Position Summary:
The Department of Clinical Forensic Psychology at The Chicago School, Los Angeles/Anaheim campuses, invites applications for a full-time Director of Clinical Training position, beginning as soon as the position is filled.
The Director of Clinical Training for the California Campuses located in Los Angeles and Anaheim oversees the entire practicum and internship experience for the students in the Psy.D. and M.A. programs in the Department of Clinical Forensic Psychology. This position collaborates with the other Directors of Clinical Training in other departments and at other campus locations. The Director of Clinical Training acts as a liaison between the academic program administration and faculty, the training sites, and the students. This position reports to the Academic Chair with a dotted line reporting to the Office of Placement and Training.
This position is a hybrid position that offers a balance between on-campus presence and remote work. The Director of Clinical Training will spend three days on campus, one day remote, and one day dedicated to professional growth and development. Principle Duties:
Director of Clinical Training:
- The Director of Clinical Training- Clinical Psychology oversees the entire practicum experience for the students in the Masters in Forensic Psychology (MAFO) Program and the practicum and internship experience for students in the Clinical Forensic PsyD (FO PsyD) Program for the Chicago School’s Southern California Campuses.
- This position collaborates with the Forensic Department Chair and the Office of Placement and Training (OPT), and acts as a liaison between the academic program administration and faculty, the training sites, and the students.
- Support and maintain a network of practicum and internship sites, as well as relationships with site supervisors.
- Oversee the education of students who are new to the practicum and internship search processes and practices.
- Conduct annual site visits.
- Consult with students who are encountering issues related to their practicum or internship experience.
- Manage the flow of information regarding students’ progress, as well as problems, to academic department chairs, faculty, and/or practicum and internship sites.
- Oversee the review of practicum and internship evaluations and related paperwork.
- Manage the proper storage and/or dissemination of training data including the relevant portions of the Tevera training database.
- Consult on the development of new OPT initiatives and projects.
Position Qualifications:
- Psy.D. or Ph.D. required in Clinical, Clinical Forensic, or Counseling Psychology
- Licensure in relevant profession
- Evidence of strong teaching and academic administration at the post-secondary level
- Teaching experience of at least 5 years preferred (combined on-ground/online preferably)
- Clinical experience of at least 5+ years preferred (clinical and forensic settings preferred)
- Record of scholarship and/or community service preferred
- Ability to behave in a collegial and professional manner with all members of TCS community.
- Ability to adhere to the highest professional conduct and ethical standards
- Ability to engage in responsibilities with the promotion of the TCS mission and reputation
