Job Summary

The Director of Enterprise Data and Analytics Solutions is responsible for leading the department and key initiatives that support L.A. Care's enterprise data strategy and analytics solutions. Plans and oversees critical technology programs focused on providing high-value data and advanced analytics capabilities to measure and analyze business performance. In collaboration with the Managing Director of Enterprise Data Strategy and Analytics (EDSA), defines and implements the strategy and roadmap for data and analytics platforms including the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), data science platforms, Tableau (visualizations), OBIEE (ad hoc queries and self-service) and SAS (statistical analysis).

This position is responsible for directing all aspects of running an efficient team, including hiring, supervising, coaching, training, disciplining, and motivating direct reports. The Director oversees assigned staff responsible for defining and implementing the core data and analytical platforms. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams in Information Technology (I.T) to ensure delivery of solutions and integration with L.A. Care architecture and quality standards.

Duties

Conducts strategic planning to utilize resources to meet current and future departmental and Enterprise-wide goals. Develop, maintain, and communicate strategies and roadmaps for enterprise data and analytics platforms. Ensure overall transparency and alignment with LA Care's strategic goals. Facilitate business and technical buy-in to proposed solutions.

Provide leadership and accountability for successful delivery of programs and projects within the prescribed schedule and budget. Provide overall program/project direction, mitigate risks, and resolve issues. Provide effective and timely communication of status, issues, and risks to business stakeholders and I.T. leadership.

Collaborate with business and I.T. partners to address inter-departmental needs and issues to include business process alignment and stakeholder participation.

Develops goals, objectives and actions plans for assigned staff which includes full management responsibility for the hiring, performance reviews, salary reviews, training, and disciplinary matters for direct reporting employees.

Facilitate business and technical buy-in to proposed strategies, roadmaps, solutions, programs, and projects.

Provide overall leadership in program/project planning ensuring implementation of best practices, integration of business processes, risk management, and quality control.

Conduct program, process, and technical reviews, as needed, to assure the successful and timely delivery of high-quality data and analytics platforms.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related FieldIn lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience

Required:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing I.T. projects and programs responsible for development and integration of data solutions.

At least 5 years’ experience of leading, supervising and/ or managing staff.

Experience working with business executives to develop strategies and execute programs for building enterprise applications from concept to implementation.

Experience coordinating requirements and resolving conflicts with stakeholders from multiple departments

Skills

Required:

Solid understanding of data management, data warehousing, and data analytics strategies and methods such as Inmon, Kimble, Data Vault, and Data Lake.

Solid understanding of SCRUM or other agile methodologies.

Ability to communicate effectively at the executive level (briefings, status reports, corporate communications, meeting facilitation, etc.).

Proven ability to build and sustain excellent relationships, through clear and effective communication, with all levels of management across functions and divisions.

Proven ability to influence, engage, and motivate direct and indirect reports, peers and clients and vendors in a matrix environment.

Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Program and project management expertise, including testing and reconciliation methods.
