As Director of Implementation, you will execute projects to completion for AutoNation Finance. You will play a critical role in identifying, scoping, requirements gathering, mapping, and implementing major projects that will enhance AutoNation Finances’ efficiency and ability to grow and provide profitable results to AutoNation. You will partner with various business lines to evaluate projects and prioritize them based on the needs of the company. Partner with the business to review process flows for operational efficiencies and identify projects that could be implemented for improvement. The Director of Implementation will work to drive cross functional teams towards the project goals and objectives. With an emphasis on technology, this role serves as a key leader for all implementations, especially those with a focus on efficiencies and growth. You will ensure transparent communication to leaders on all status and roadblocks to ensure projects are moving forward as effectively as possible. Working with the COO, you will synchronize strategies with corporate centric plans and interpret long-term plans into short-term projects. Critical to this role is to act as a leader between all businesses and IT to help facilitate the implementation of solutions which will require excellent communication of the business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Develop, maintain, deploy and continuously improve best-in-class project management standards to deliver business value
  • Partner across the business and support functions to ensure the successful execution of projects and other initiatives working closely with members of senior management and functional leaders
  • Provide executive leaders with information needed to assess and decide which projects have the highest potential value, impact and strategic alignment
  • Develop project plans and ensure that implementations are completed on time, within budget and meets business expectations
  • Ensure effective project tracking and monitoring through project status reporting and proactive risk, issue and change management process
  • Ensure effective partnership and management of project vendors
  • Manage multiple, detailed projects to successful end while working under tight time deadlines
  • Identifies opportunities for operational efficiency
  • Identify, pilot, and test originations strategies/processes to identify the most effective approach
  • Helps direct projects towards desired technology and business strategies
  • Ability to translate business need into technical terms.
  • Work with IT teams to improve processes and create documentation
  • Evaluate project objectives and helps identify appropriate prioritization
  • Provide expertise in analysis, design and development of business applications
  • Actively partner with technology and business teams to ensure ongoing effective communication of all efforts and strategic planning
  • Support business and technology teams with root cause analysis and issue resolution
  • Actively participate in committees to encourage open strategic communication between business partners
  • Assess business and customer needs, market trends and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities and drive innovation.
  • Serve as a liaison for AutoNation Finance strategy within AutoNation corporate and communicate out our vision and strategy to business stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy in across the organization

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & LICENSES:

  • Ability to manage multiple, detailed projects to a successful end while working under tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers
  • Strong negation and problem resolution skills
  • Good presentation, database management and computer system skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team to achieve high performance under stressful conditions
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Demonstrates expert understanding of business applications, core processing, web-based technology, application configuration batch and real time system interfaces, programming, networking, server and data base concepts.
  • Participates in project prioritization efforts and can provide insightful information that should be factored into decisions
  • Makes decisions and takes measures regarding operational matters within assigned authority.
  • Proficient at communicating directly to senior level management details about complex projects or issues.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s Degree preferred, Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Senior Level Individual Contributor: Minimum 10 Years of Experience
  • 10+ years related experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior relationship management experience required.
  • Certification in areas of focus (PMP, DASM, etc.)

The expected salary for this position is between $150,000 and $210,000 per year.
