Overview

The Director, Marketing Operations will be a strategic partner to the Chief Marketing Officer, collaborating and implementing the credit union's overall marketing strategy, optimizing marketing operations and infrastructure, helping drive organizational growth through creative, attention-getting, and results-oriented marketing initiatives, and improving efficiency while ensuring that marketing efforts align with company goals and contribution to overall success.

The Director, Marketing Operations will also play a vital role in supporting the Marketing team and OnPoint’s primary business units with valuable insights, resources, and tools. The Director of Marketing Operations aims to make the marketing processes as frictionless as possible by aligning and optimizing various processes and systems to reduce inefficiencies and improve workflow while ensuring alignment with the overall marketing strategy.

Essential Functions

  • Provide direction and oversight of the Marketing Leadership Team, including ensuring the coordination and delivery of project briefs, industry analysis and insights, and other essential marketing support.
  • Develop and improve interdepartmental processes, focusing on improving efficiencies, managing marketing operations functions, streamlining communication between teams, and managing the complexities of multiple ongoing projects.
  • Partner with the Marketing Leadership Team and be an additional contact between marketing and stakeholders to understand lines of business needs and align requests with the marketing team’s workflow and overall marketing strategy.
  • Ability to understand and articulate the value of marketing efforts for various business lines and correlate with marketing budgets.
  • Manage vendor contracts and overall marketing budget; track, manage and oversee Marketing Team expenses, and provide monthly budget reconciliation reports.
  • Implement and oversee controls to ensure reconciliation of invoice approvals.
  • Partner with lines of business in product development investments to identify areas of improvement.
  • Partner with the Performance Marketing team to coordinate regular delivery of marketing ROI reports for management. Communicate ROI, analysis, and marketing results to stakeholders and management.
  • Blend project management principles with data-driven marketing to deliver high-quality initiatives on time and on budget.
  • Ensure processes are designed, documented, understood, and followed and work to simplify systems and process.
  • Lead and mentor the marketing team, providing clear direction, fostering a collaborative environment, and organizing meetings for leadership and teams. This will include meeting preparation, tracking, and follow-up with team members.
  • Work with all parts of the Marketing Team to help bridge the gap between collecting data and effectively presenting it to line-of-business stakeholders, the Marketing Team, and OnPoint leadership.
  • Collaborate with the CMO and Marketing Leadership Team to create marketing strategies and initiatives that resonate with consumers and financial professionals, strengthen brand loyalty, and drive business growth.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Great leadership skills with a proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Familiarity and experience with a wide range of data, marketing technology, marketing automation, and analytics. Preferred experience with Marketo, PowerBI, and Monday.com.
  • Experience fostering interdepartmental team processes for improved efficiency, managing marketing operations functions, aligning communication pathways between teams, and managing the complexities of multiple ongoing projects.
  • Strong analytic skills to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • In-depth knowledge of CRM software and content management systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of project management and strong attention to detail, with strong strategic decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to stay current on the latest marketing strategies and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing a cross-functional marketing team, including marketing project and/or traffic management
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a liaison between the marketing function and lines of business, either with internal stakeholder management or agency relationship management
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cross-functional marketing budget management, ROI analysis, and management reporting of information
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in marketing strategy and implementation experience
  • Banking/Financial Institution marketing experience preferred.
