
Director of Sales - Controls
OTTO’s opportunity:
Our Director of Sales – Controls has overall responsibility for all Sales activities.
Specifically, the Director of Sales – Controls will:
- Work with and direct the activities of the Sales team to increase business with existing customers and to identify new customers, market and product opportunities. Also work with other department leaders.
- Ensure the Sales Managers are working with the Mfg.’s Rep’ organizations and distributors, providing an effective field sales force. Monitor their performance on a regular and formal basis.
- Track and report on customer trends in technology, competition, pricing, and market direction.
- Assist the Sales Managers in responsibility for terminating Rep’s and Distributors, as well as hiring new Rep’s and Distributors.
- Provide product training to the Sales Managers, Rep’s and Distributors on a regular basis, participate in setting up trade shows and other promotional activity as needed.
- Responsible for the attainment of direct booking goals and distributor sales and goals for all regions.
- Take ownership of the development of all strategic accounts and markets.
- Secure performance of Sales Managers in the achievement of bookings plan for all products, forecast accuracy, and achievement of strategic customer penetration plans.
- Manage distribution in conjunction with the Distributor Sales Manager.
- Monitor major opportunities and provide assistance where needed to capture the business.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with sales managers, manufacturer’s representatives, distributors and customers.
- Lead product development activity to set the roadmap for new products.
- Strong customer face-to-face interaction skills.
- Understanding of contracts and other legal sales documents.
- Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.
What you’ll need to bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 10 years’ related sales management experience
- Must possess proven leadership ability
- Strong negotiation skills
- MS Office computer knowledge
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
- Requires self-motivation and ability to set and achieve strategic goals
- Must be able to work in a quick paced environment
- Availability for nonstandard or extended work schedule
- CRM expertise, Salesforce preferred
- Travel as necessary
What OTTO offers for this specific position:
The hiring range listed in this posting is what we, in good faith, anticipate relying on when confirming a base salary for this position; exceptions may be considered for highly experienced candidates with multiple years of at-level experience.
- Target base salary hiring range:$170,000 to $220,000, based on qualifications and experience.
- Profit Sharing Bonus - OTTO believes that it’s fair to share the profits that the employees help to make; profit sharing is distributed to employees twice a year. OTTO’s profit sharing plan is paid at the discretion of the company and is not a guaranteed bonus or any part of a compensation plan.
- Management incentive: Executive Management Bonus Plan
- Vacation: 160 hours - vacation time is earned on the anniversary date.
