Director of Strategic Growth and Advocacy
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Athlete Messaging & Neuro-Cognitive Program Development:
- Develop tailored messaging strategies targeting athletes to highlight the benefits of the neuro-cognitive program on performance and mental resilience. Work with athletic governing bodies, USOPC and IOC for partnerships. Work with LA28 for potential village partnership.
- Collaborate with clinical and marketing teams to ensure communication aligns with program outcomes and scientific advancements.
- Create compelling content, including case studies, testimonials, and performance data, to enhance program visibility and adoption.
Insurance Partnership & Sales Strategy:
- Design and implement innovative sell-through strategies with insurance providers to broaden service accessibility.
- Develop targeted marketing campaigns to communicate the value of services to managed care
Marketing & Public Relations:
- Collaborate with public relations teams to craft messaging for media, stakeholders, and public audiences that highlights organizational expertise and achievements.
- Spearhead campaigns showcasing thought leadership
- Lead campaigns to enhance awareness of the organization’s neuro-cognitive and performance offerings, leveraging digital platforms, social media, and traditional media outlets.
- Public relations efforts, ensuring clear and consistent messaging to athletes, stakeholders, and the broader public.
- Brand spokesperson for media surrounding Natl/International Sporting events/Dry January/Sober Curious movement
- Public speaking and presentations: Sharing expertise through presentations, workshops or media interviews when appropriate. Conferences, Medical Conferences, Employer Conferences
Government and Advocacy:
- Monitor and influence legislative developments impacting the industry to ensure organizational compliance and opportunity.
- Serve as a liaison with government partners, fostering collaboration to improve access to services and resources.
Conference Representation & Thought Leadership:
- Represent the organization at national and international conferences, engaging with industry leaders to strengthen partnerships and showcase innovations.
- Develop and deliver impactful presentations to establish the company as a thought leader in its field.
Board Engagement:
- Actively engage with the board of directors to align growth strategies with organizational goals and priorities.
- Direct contact for board members/large donor referrals
- Present regular updates, insights, and recommendations to ensure transparency and alignment across leadership teams.
Account Management & Business Development:
- Oversee a portfolio of high-value accounts, ensuring tailored service delivery and long-term client satisfaction.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities by leveraging market research and stakeholder insights.
- Partner with internal teams to align sales efforts with broader marketing and operational strategies.
Philanthropy
- Collaborate with the philanthropy team to identify gift giving opportunities
- Attend key alumni, philanthropy and other business development events to assist in furthering philanthropic goals

- Ability to work extended hours, including evening and weekends as necessary
- Must have transportation to and from site visits and appointments, and be able to physically navigate access to and from various referent locations both within and outside of your assigned region
- Able to work remotely from home office. Must have appropriate space to work from, including computer access with ability to connect to Caron’s systems and high-speed internet access.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
- Minimum of 5 years’ sales, marketing and branding experience in healthcare and/or service-related industry
- Demonstrated expertise in government advocacy and policy initiatives, preferably within healthcare, sports, or neuro-cognitive performance domains.
- Clinical knowledge and/or understanding of substance use treatment programming.
- Proven relationship management and prospecting skills
- If in recovery, 2 years of continuous sobriety preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of industry players and/or substance use disorder treatment
- Demonstrated public speaking skills
- Proficiency in sales/referent reporting and marketing planning.
- Strong ability to build relationships with multiple entities.
- Ability to drive innovation and identify opportunities for organizational growth and brand elevation.
- Knowledge of government advocacy processes, policies, and relationship-building within healthcare or sports sectors.
- Familiarity with neuro-cognitive performance programs, their benefits, and their application in performance and recovery.
- Understanding of third-party payor systems, healthcare reimbursement models, and partnerships in the healthcare ecosystem.
- Awareness of trends in athlete performance, recovery, and health-related programs.
