DIRECTOR – STUDENT LIFE
Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, a member of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, is conducting a search for full-time Director – Student Life.
The Director - Student Life is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and administration of Student Life including Residence Life, Student Government & Leadership, and Student Activities & Inclusion. This includes overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, managing budgets and staff, program development and driving the department's goals in alignment with the institution's mission and strategic objectives. The Director is accountable for overall planning, policy development, recruitment activities, and implementation of activities for Student Life (Residence Life, Student Government & Leadership, and Student Activities & Inclusion). This position requires the ability to work with a diverse population, develop and deliver student leadership programs, and plan and market events. Candidates should understand student development theory, support students' transition to college, and assess co-curricular programming for continuous improvement. A flexible schedule is required, including evening and weekend work to manage events. Staff are expected to advance the College's focus on student success and completion and will work closely with the College's leadership to advance the mission of the current Strategic Plan
Required: Master's degree and a minimum of 5 years of appropriate professional experience; or a Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of appropriate professional experience.
Preferred: Experience in higher education or related field, with demonstrated success in managing complex operations and leading diverse teams.
Salary: Begins at $53,756, and varies based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement as well as internal equity.
