The Division
Located primarily in Merrimack, New Hampshire, Fidelity’s Fixed Income Division is one of the country’s leading fixed income managers with well over $1.5 trillion in fixed income assets managed by a staff of roughly 200 investment professionals. At Fidelity, we combine fundamental research on domestic and international debt issuers with macroeconomic and quantitative analysis to develop investment decisions. The Role
The government money market trader will be an integral member of the Fixed Income money market investment team. The money market team consists of portfolio managers (PMs), research analysts, quantitative analysts, and traders that work together to make informed investment decisions that benefit our shareholders. The trader will support our government money market strategies and be responsible for trading across various government money market security types.
The Value You Deliver
- Focus on multiple aspects of government money market trading
- Source investment opportunities and access liquidity in the market
- Negotiate and execute trades on behalf of our portfolios
- Collect, organize, and disseminate relevant market and trading information to the investment team
- Partner with portfolio managers, traders, and analysts to generate investment ideas that will have a positive impact on our investment performance
- Establish and maintain strong broker dealer relationships (sales, trading)
- Represent the trading desk in periodic team meetings and other ad hoc forums
- Partner with technology, compliance, legal, operations, and other internal groups to provide best-in-class service and execution capabilities to various portfolios
The Skills & Experience you Bring
- 5-10 years of buy-side or sell-side fixed income investment-related experience
- Undergraduate degree required
- Demonstrated interest in investing and capital markets
- Strong analytical ability along with excellent communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a consistent focus on accuracy
- Team player who is flexible and willing to pitch-in where needed
- Familiar with front-to-back-office operations, and proficient with technology
- Ability to think creatively and independently while working in a collaborative environment
- Aptitude for using new technologies to enhance our workflows, trading systems, and market surveillance capabilities
