The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Health Educator  2 within the Fulton County Board of Health in the Health Promotion Division.

This is a grant funded position (HHS/Teen Pregnancy Prevention)

Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision, promotes, maintains, and improves individual and community health by assisting individuals and communities to adopt healthy behaviors. Collect and analyze data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs designed to encourage healthy lifestyles, policies and environments.

  • Facilitate evidence-based adolescent sexual health programs with fidelity in schools, clinics and community settings. 
  • Conduct community outreach and engagement for the purpose of bringing awareness to the issue of teen pregnancy in Fulton County
  • Promote the SKYE Program; and conduct outreach and recruitment of youth, parents/caregivers, and youth-serving organizations to participate in the program. 
  • Produce and lead educational workshops in a variety of settings and develop educational materials for the population of focus. Evenings and weekends required. 

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in public health education from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in education, social, behavioral or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience in public health education.

Preferred Qualifications
1. One or more years facilitating evidence-based programs with fidelity. 
2. Two or more years experience educating youth.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
4. Experience delivering evidence-based programs.
5. Documented experience in engaging difficult to access populations in health programming.

  Fulton County Board of Health accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered.
