The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Immunization Program is recruiting for a Part-TimeImmunization Health Educator – P/T, Job Share to carry out certain federal and state requirements of the Immunization Quality Improvement for Providers Program (IQIP), including: conducting formal IQIP quality improvement visits, providing technical assistance, and coordinating immunization program activities for over 600 enrolled clinics and local public health departments.
You will be responsible for acting as a member of self-directed team, for evaluating the provider and team performance, effectiveness, and program improvement activities. You will exercise considerable independence in prioritizing, planning, conducting, concluding, and evaluating position required activities. You act as the front-line access to ALERT IIS technical assistance and are expected to have a working knowledge of related areas such as other public health programs, medical billing procedures, health record processes and national clinical improvement benchmarks.
You will use independent judgment to provide detailed technical assistance and evaluation of complex immunization program requirements and immunization standards to Oregon immunization providers, and to provide highly skilled triage and problem solving to other program area subject matter experts.
Part-time / Job Share Information
- This position is a job-share and will split duties with another Immunization Heath Educator.
- This is a part-time position (20 hours/week), and the monthly salary range is $4,755 - $7,296 (the salary range listed above on the job announcement is for a full-time position).

Location:
Approximately 50% of the work occurs during site visits to public and private immunization providers in assigned territory, as well as occasional work in other territories. These trips are 1-5 days in duration. Work hours may be other than 8:00 – 5:00, including evening and weekends. Employee may be required to work occasional evenings or weekends on- or off-site as part of the program’s emergency response to a designated public health event. Working conditions are a combination of office and remote locations, with full access to needed operating systems and technology in either location.
There are times that the work will need to be conducted at the primary work location listed in this announcement, the Portland State Office Building located at 800 NE Oregon Street, Portland, OR 97232. Work location can be changed at any time at the discretion of the hiring manager.
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License and ability to drive for 5-6 hours at a time required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in a health or education related field AND three years of progressively responsible professional experience related to the series concept (e.g. public health, community health, mental health, or social work experience)
OR
A Master’s degree in a health or education related field AND one year of public health, community health, mental health, or social work experience.
