Summary/Objective:

We are seeking a seasoned Infrastructure Administrator to lead the support, operation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This strategic role focuses on optimizing and securing servers, storage, systems, and network environments while driving continuous improvement and innovation in the Academy’s infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability.


Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Adhering to established IT infrastructure policies, procedures, and lifecycle management, ensure the support and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers (both virtual and physical), network equipment, systems, and IT service providers.
  • Monitor infrastructure, system, storage, and network performance, establishing baselines and building historical data for analysis. Provide strategic recommendations to IT and business leaders for optimization and improvement. Oversee the maintenance of data center environmental controls and monitoring equipment to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory, ensuring updates align with business unit requirements.
  • Actively collaborate with People & Culture, Security, Operations, and Facilities to support the onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring seamless access management and security compliance.
  • Safeguard the security and integrity of all Academy data stored within infrastructure-supported storage systems, ensuring compliance with best practices and security protocols.
  • Collaborate with business units and IT leadership to maintain the established disaster recovery and business continuity plan. Continuously assess and identify areas for improvement, providing strategic recommendations to enhance resilience and operational continuity.
  • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues, ensuring timely identification and implementation of effective solutions. Engage vendors as needed and serve as the primary liaison between business units and external experts to facilitate resolution and optimization.

Required Competencies:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Infrastructure Administrator in an enterprise environment, or 8 years of progressive experience leading up to the role.
  • Proven experience and expertise in corporate Wintel environments, with a strong background in integrating and implementing solutions utilizing cloud, virtualization, storage, networking, and other infrastructure-supporting technologies.
  • Strong ability to identify key issues and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, across the IT department, business stakeholders, and non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain positive working relationships with staff, executives, and external partners.
  • Willingness and capability to work extended hours, including nights, as needed to support infrastructure operations and ensure business continuity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), VMware Certified Professional).

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to move up to 45 pounds and handle physical tasks related to hardware setup and maintenance.

Hybrid Requirement: All Academy positions require a minimum of 2-days per week of in-person work at an Academy Location. Exceptions: Positions requiring daily in-person presence (ex. Front-line staff, staff who need to deal with materials on-site, etc.) and medical and religious accommodations approved by the Office of People & Culture.


Compensation: The expected salary range for this role is $95,000.00 - $115,000.00. The actual base pay offered will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.)
