Instructor, Medical Billing - Part Time

You will make an impact by:
- Serving as a mentor, role model and facilitator who provides guidance and academic support for students.
- Teaching 6 different courses throughout the entire revenue cycle of billing that includes dental, inpatient and outpatient billing.
- Demonstrating enthusiasm for teaching, the teaching/learning process and for individual students.
- Applying your skills and experience to your assigned teaching schedule.
- Participating in and contributing to assessment activities of courses/curriculum and programs via a continuous improvement plan set forth by the University.
- Regularly contributing to improvement of class materials and syllabi within prescribed shared governance culture.
- Utilizing a variety of teaching methodologies to instruct students, always with intent to facilitate observable evidence of student fulfillment of prescribed learning outcomes.
- Maintaining scholarly activities.
- Participating in professional growth and service in accordance with college policies.
Your experience includes:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other MS office products as needed.
- Compliance with state, federal and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance, and other regulatory standards.
- Three (3) years of occupational (i.e., practical) experience in the subject field in you they teach.
- Previous teaching experience.
- Must be able to work approximately 25 hours/week between the hours of 8:00am-1:00pm PST Monday-Thursday's and approximately 2 hours on Friday's.
Education: Education and experience must align with state regulations and comply with the rules and regulations of state authorization agencies.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Must be a graduate from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in the specialty field or the subject area in which they teach.
Certification:
- An AAPC’s Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification is required or must be obtained within six (6) months of the hire date.
Compensation:
- $27.70 - $37.39/hour (California)
- $24.28 - $32.80/hour (Non-California)
