How will you make an impact in this role?
Global Specialty Servicing (GSS) & Amex Assurance Company (AAC) is a team that provides best-in-class specialty servicing. Specialty servicing includes insurance servicing, non-card servicing, and value generation marketing activities. As process owners, the team leads the end-to-end customer experience at both our third parties as well as our proprietary teams. Additionally, the team is responsible for the management and regulatory aspects of Amex’s wholly owned subsidiary, Amex Assurance Company.
Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring our company’s compliance with all regulatory bodies, understanding upcoming regulations and their impact on our claims operation, and developing and implementing plans to meet those requirements.
Additionally, responsibilities will include documenting processes, identifying risks and gaps and partnering with Control Management to ensure adequate controls are in place to mitigate risks.
Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of regulatory guidelines and standards in the insurance industry and is process driven.
They have proven experience in claims, regulatory affairs, project management skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement claims regulatory strategies and plans
- Ensure regulatory compliance of the claims function
- Monitor changes in relevant legislative, regulatory, and industry requirements
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance with regulations
- Develop and maintain regulatory claims policies and procedures
- Educate staff on regulatory requirements and updates
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven 3 years work experience in a regulatory affairs management or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of claims regulatory guidelines and standards in the industry
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Experience in process governance, establishing and overseeing robust decision-making processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
