JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Greystar is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join as an Analyst within our Research and Strategy Group. The Research and Strategy Group is focused on the formulation, capitalization, and deployment of Greystar’s global investment strategies as well as overseeing Greystar’s ongoing market research across the globe. The team works to create new underwriting tools, synthesize proprietary data to formulate “House Views,” and improve the global investment process. The team collaborates with senior management to lead corporate and enterprise strategic opportunities as well as data strategy.

This role will work cross-functionally to support financial, operational, and strategic analysis across Greystar’s global business, providing a candidate broad exposure to the firm. The position needs an intellectually curious individual who can assess projects through different viewpoints including that of the end-consumer, real estate investor, and corporate finance professional. Prior investment banking, private equity, or management consulting experience is required with a preference towards those with a demonstrated interest in real estate.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

  • Financial modeling and analysis
  • Working with large amounts of data to formulate into actionable insights
  • Market research and strategy formulation for prospective investment ventures
  • Preparation of marketing materials and conference presentations
  • Portfolio allocation analysis and market/investment recommendations
  • New investment idea generation/vetting
  • Strategic and operational analysis of existing venture performance
  • Thought leadership in cultivating the “House View”
  • Creating new tools to value and underwrite new geographies, products and investment opportunities
  • Corporate strategy support regarding the deployment of balance sheet capital in accretive opportunities focused on product expansion and the enhancement of Greystar’s current capabilities

Qualifications:

  • One or more years of work experience in financial services (e.g. investment banking, consulting)
  • A bachelor’s degree is required in finance, accounting, business, real estate, economics, or related field
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Additional Compensation:

  • Corporate Positions: In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.
  • Onsite Property Positions: In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible to participate in weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly bonus programs.
