Position hours will be Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, and will have potential for extended hours during certain times of the year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Prepare monthly journal entries.
  • Review and analyze selected general ledger accounts previous to issuing monthly report for accuracy and to ensure expenses are charged to the proper budgets.
  • Analytical review and preparation of account balances, activity, and reconciliations to assure accurate reporting and to identify and explain trends and variances, including coordination with treasury and revenue cycle teams.
  • Manage/maintain supporting accounting systems and processes and reconciliations to financial records for fixed assets, payables, receivables, and other related systems.
  • Perform assigned monthly general ledger audits and reconciliations.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation and monthly forecasting by participating in budget meetings and updating Caron’s budget software as required.
  • Actively support and participate in the annual audit of financial statements and preparation of statutory reporting
  • Develop and improve financial and accounting processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Coordinate with the Controller for financial department cross training, process documentation and knowledge transfer for transitions and back up
  • Create functional Excel reports and models such as pivot tables, sensitivity models, and forms.

  • Sitting 80% of the workday.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds (file boxes etc.)
  • Ability to work extended hours during month end, budget and audit times.

Education / Experience Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience
  • Required: 2-4 years’ experience in an accounting setting
  • Preferred: If in recovery, 1 year of continuous sobriety

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer Literate in Windows operating system.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook as well as Best Software – FAS Asset.
  • Must have an ability to organize workloads based on internal and external goals and objectives.
  • Strong understanding of Finance processes, accounting and data.
  • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Ability to apply and adapt practices and techniques to meet the needs of the organization’s culture.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral, written and customer service skills.
