Responsible for providing certifications, nutrition education, and food package changes to clients in person, over the phone, and virtually. Serves as a resource on nutrition and dietetics to nurses, health educators or other health care providers in the facility. Recommends nutritional care plans and documents plan and progress in records. 
Full time position-M-F work schedule-13 paid holidays and excellent benefit package
All Coastal Health District, County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours. 

Job Responsibilities

Under broad supervision, plan and conduct food service or nutritional programs to assist in the promotion of health and control of disease. Provides nutritional assessment, education and counseling to individuals, groups or the public. Serves as a resource on nutrition and dietetics to nurses, health educators or other health care providers in the facility. Recommends nutritional care plans and documents plan and progress in records. 

Minimum Qualifications

Nutritionist 1-Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. Starting Salary-$41,923.38
Nutritionist 2-Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics AND Two years of experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals. Starting Salary-$46,115.72
