POSITION SUMMARY

At Envision Child Development Center in Farmers Branch, TX, the Licensed Preschool Teacher plays a key role in providing high-quality care and education for children ages 2.5 years to school age. This position fosters a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports both typically sighted children and those with visual impairments.

In addition to serving as Lead Teacher, this role functions as a supervisor, overseeing daily center operations, acting as a liaison between staff and leadership, and reporting to the ECDC Director.

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Development & Implementation



  • Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum.



  • Plan and conduct engaging indoor and outdoor activities.



  • Adapt teaching methods for diverse learning needs, incorporating inclusive strategies and assistive technologies.



Child Supervision & Safety



  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.



  • Conduct regular observations to assess children’s progress and adjust teaching strategies.



  • Supervise outdoor playtime as scheduled.



Parent & Family Engagement



  • Build strong relationships with families and provide regular progress updates.



  • Encourage and facilitate family involvement in their child’s education.



Center Operations & Compliance



  • Support daily operations while ensuring a professional and compliant environment.



  • Maintain a Texas Director’s License and assume Director responsibilities as needed.



  • Develop and implement SOPs, KPIs, and financial plans.



  • Track and ensure compliance with TXHSS, CACFP, and other regulatory requirements.



  • Process childcare payments, maintain records, and manage student intake.



  • Uphold confidentiality of all student information.



Administrative & Customer Service Support



  • Monitor staff performance and promote excellent customer service.



  • Assist parents with check-in and billing inquiries.



  • Manage ProCare software and generate reports.



  • Greet visitors, handle inquiries, and answer multi-line phones.



Additional Duties



  • Oversee food program compliance and assist with handbook and calendar updates.



  • Coordinate and support annual ECDC events.



  • Engage in ongoing professional development.



  • Perform other duties as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTSEducation:
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field (Required).
Experience:
  • Prior experience in an early childhood development facility (Preferred).
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and assistive technologies for visually impaired children.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general administrative procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a customer service-oriented and professional demeanor.
  • Desire to understand and support the needs of individuals with visual impairments across diverse backgrounds.
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Valid state teaching license or certification (Required).
  • Texas Director’s License.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (Required within 30 days of hire).

VISION REQUIREMENTS

This role can be performed with or without assistive technology and requires the ability to:

  • Analyze data, read screens, and inspect objects for defects.
  • Review/inspect personal work and that of others.


Corrected-to-normal vision is required for operating motor vehicles.
