How will you make an impact in this role?
The US Regulatory Reporting organization is part of the Global Controllership organization and is responsible for end-to-end reporting to the various US Regulators, including the FRB, FDIC, OCC and CFPB. The AENB Regulatory reporting team and is responsible for managing and delivering several regulatory reporting filings for American Express National Bank (AENB). The Manager of AENB Regulatory Reporting will lead a team that works with several groups within American Express during the comprehensive review and production of several regulatory filings for AENB. The position will involve close interactions with the regulators and senior management to comply with any new regulations and changes to regulatory reporting requirements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements for various filings to the regulators, including with Office of Comptroller and Currency (OCC), Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFEIC), Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporations (FDIC).
- Support the Company’s internal review procedures and all other applicable policies and procedures, including data governance.
- Lead production of regulatory filings including the AENB Call Report and various FRB filings.
- Accurate interpretation and documentation of reporting instructions to ensure reporting requirements and appropriate data elements are captured are adhered to.
- Drive implementation of analytical and reporting processes, procedures and systems using the Company’s control framework.
- Work closely, coordinate, and collaborate with various Subject Matter Experts in the review and production of regulatory reports.
- Work closely with Financial Reporting Quality and Assurance organization (FRQA) to support Quality Assurance reviews of regulatory reports.
- Support our strong working relationships and communication with external and internal stakeholders, by responding to inquiries from the regulators and key internal stakeholders on a timely basis.
- Support/lead special projects including partnering with American Express Technologies on key automation initiatives and enhancing policies and procedures around the regulatory reporting process.
- Provide leadership to Financial Analysts in the AENB Regulatory Reporting team.
- Drive employee engagement, provide career development opportunities for Regulatory Reporting team members, support Amex Flex and work/life balance initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting / Reporting / Auditing.
- Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Regulatory and U.S. GAAP requirements.
- A self-starter, proactive team player with a passion to consistently deliver high quality service and exceed customers’ expectations.
- Ability to lead, coach, develop and promote talent.
- A quick learner with superior problem-solving skills, who is focused on generating efficiencies and continuous process improvements.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive projects, and work well under tight deadlines.
- Strong written/oral communication, relationship building, presentation and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree, CPA/Chartered Accountant or similar qualification, preferred.
- Prior Regulatory/Federal Reserve/SEC/External Reporting and banking/financial services experience preferred.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
