Position Summary
The New Student Programs (NSP) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating NSP activities designed to introduce students to university traditions that create a foundation for developing community and promote student success. The New Student Programs (NSP) Coordinator reports to the Director of New Student Programs.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Strong computer skills, especially with MS Office and Banner or similar student information systems.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree.



Required Work Experience
Two (2) years of professional experience working in a student support setting in higher education. Relevant high school administration experience such as counseling and/or advising will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters degree.
• Bilingual in Spanish language.
• Experience working with minority and/or first-generation students.
• Experience in career or professional development activities.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
None specified.

Work Hours
Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with extended hours as needed to meet departmental goals, especially during peak periods.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift 10Ibs of supplies; ability to reach overhead, bend, squat to retrieve supplies.
• Ability to actively engage at events for extended periods of time.
• Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues to actively engage potential and current students, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
