
Outpatient Therapist (Part Time)
Located in Wyomissing, the Caron Outpatient Treatment Center offers a range of programs and services for teens and adults, including an outpatient mental health program and an outpatient addiction treatment program.
The part time Outpatient Therapist will be responsible for covering our new Health Care Professionals IOP, including groups and individual sessions. The position is approximately 15 hours per week. Group sessions will be (3) times per week, and flexibility between evening or morning hours. Groups can be done virtually or in our Wyomissing Outpatient office. Our ideal candidate will be licensed or have CAADC.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Case management – overall coordination of a patient’s care while receiving outpatient services, including communication with family, referral, and other concerned persons., communication with referral sources, assessment of patient progress and communication to the clinical team regarding special treatment needs and procedures.
- Facilitate group and individual therapy that is consistent with patient treatment goals on their treatment plans. Complete all associated documentation.
- Communicate treatment attendance and progress with the front office/treatment team/billing staff.
- Responsible for documenting treatment plans, progress notes, treatment plan updates, case consultations, telephone calls and discharge summaries in the patient records in a timely fashion. This includes the coordination of assessments from the multidisciplinary treatment team in according to Caron policy and procedures.
- Communication with family members or other involved parties when requested/indicated.
- Be familiar with assessment if a level of care change is indicated and make the appropriate referrals.
- Aftercare care assessment and planning – assess unresolved and deferred problems and write goals and objectives in the aftercare plan.
- Communication with respective monitoring boards.
- Expected to work within the ethical constraints of their respective counselor/therapist roles, and other professional or organizational ethical standards as they apply to the position.

- Must be able to work extended hours, travel as needed
- Must be able to deliver presentations that may be both multiple times and for lengthy time periods
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in a generally recognized clinical discipline with 6 months clinical experience.
- Licensed in a generally recognized clinical discipline that includes substance use experience preferred.
- If not licensed, minimum of a CAADC or ability to obtain it within 4 months.
- Experience in the area of facilitating group therapy required.
- If in recovery, 2 years of uninterrupted sobriety preferred.
- Must comply with ACT 33 of Pennsylvania law to work with youth populations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be familiar and be able to demonstrate knowledge of evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
- Must be trauma informed (be able to provide certifications or other evidence of training).
- Must possess good verbal and writing skills
- Must possess the willingness and capacity for growth, both personally and professionally
- Must have the ability to be objective, empathetic while addressing the individual needs of the respective patients, referrals, and family members
- Must be computer literate and able to work with most Microsoft applications along with network components
- Must have fluid communication skills and the ability to document insights and observations in a clinical record
- Must possess a high degree of professionalism and be able to keep confidential information and treat sensitive clinical information ethically
- Must be able to keep all clinical work within the guidelines of the Pennsylvania Certification Board ethical standards throughout his/her work.
