AutoNation is looking for a part-time UX Copywriter to help shape the voice of our digital experiences. This role will play a crucial part in developing our content strategy and approval process while also handling day-to-day UX and product copywriting needs. You will collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and stakeholders to craft clear, engaging, and conversion-driven content that enhances the customer journey.

You will be responsible for shaping the voice and tone of our digital products, crafting user-centered content that enhances usability and aligns with business goals. This role involves developing and maintaining language systems, style guides, and content libraries while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and quality across all touchpoints. The UX Content Designer will lead the creation of content strategies and roadmaps, conduct research and usability testing to inform decisions, and drive innovation in language design. This position requires strong communication and leadership skills to align content efforts with strategic objectives and educate team members on content best practices.

This is a great opportunity for a UX copywriter who enjoys both strategic content planning and hands-on writing, in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and document a scalable content strategy aligned with AutoNation’s UX and product goals.

· Establish a content approval process to streamline UX and product copy reviews.

· Work with stakeholders to define tone, style, and voice guidelines within the UX ecosystem.

· Write microcopy, UI text, tooltips, error messages, CTAs, product descriptions, and transactional content.

· Ensure copy is clear, engaging, and optimized for conversion while maintaining brand voice.

· Collaborate with UX designers to integrate copy seamlessly into designs and prototypes.

· Develop and maintain language systems, style guides, and content libraries

· Conduct A/B testing on key content elements and iterate based on data insights.

· Work cross-functionally with designers, product managers, marketers, and stakeholders to ensure a consistent content experience.

· Provide guidance on best practices for UX writing and content usability.

Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience in UX writing, product copywriting, or content strategy.

· Proven experience writing for e-commerce, SaaS, or digital products (automotive experience is a plus).

· Strong understanding of conversion-focused copy, usability best practices, and user psychology.

· Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design writing

· Experience with A/B testing, data-driven content decisions, and iterative content improvements.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a part-time capacity.

· Familiarity with design systems, CMS platforms, and collaboration tools like Figma is a plus.

· Experience educating UX team members on content best practices

· Experience leading content strategies and roadmaps

· Strong understanding of language and writing standards and ability to ensure they are met throughout the content creation process
