All Coastal Health District County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

Job Responsibilities

Under nursing supervision, provides home visitation services to medically diagnosed high-risk, pregnant, post-partum and inter-conceptual women. Works directly with a nursing case manager and other public health nurses to provide the services and resources needed for this population. As a professional health care worker, provide outreach, support and education to the target population and their surrounding community to reduce disparities in birthoutcomes.Mayalsoprovidegeneralclericalsupport.Musthaveavalid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and completion of a PHN course within one (1) year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.
Preferred: BSN, Previous experience in home care and/or medical case management, Newborn and/or Pediatric. Bilingual-Spanish. One year of Labor & Delivery experience OR One year working in a prenatal care clinic or One year experience working with moms and babies.
