Job Summary

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program director position is a full-time core faculty member of the RSCC Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

Developing, implementing, evaluating and revising the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program’s master plan of education.

This is a 12 month position.

Job Duties

  • The Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program director position is a full-time core faculty member of the RSCC Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. In addition to the duties and responsibilities as a full-time faculty at RSCC (PA-24-01), the DMS program director is responsible for:
  • Developing, implementing, evaluating and revising the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program’s master plan of education. 
  • Coordinating the development, implementation, and revision process for the program’s curriculum design; including but not limited to, course descriptions, course requirements, and evaluation systems.
  • Developing program evaluation to ensure ongoing effectiveness through outcomes assessment of quality indicators.
  • Preparing and maintaining the program budget within established parameters as needed for the program.
  • Overseeing the evaluation, maintenance, selection, and purchase of educational materials and equipment to meet the needs of the program.
  • Collaborating with the Diagnostic Medical Sonography faculty to meet the needs of students and program assessment.
  • Assisting in the process of interviewing, selecting and mentoring faculty.
  • Interviewing, selecting, mentoring and evaluating adjunct faculty who teach courses within the program under the general supervision.
  • Counseling and advising prospective and current students.
  • Serving as a liaison between the program and affiliates/community stakeholders.
  • Assisting in reviewing affiliation agreements as needed.
  • Preparing annual reports for the Dean, college representatives and other agencies as needed.
  • Pursuing ongoing education in the discipline, instructional delivery and management maintain professional competency.
  • Collaborating with faculty to create a positive learning environment.
  • Coordinating and directing the procedures required to maintain program accreditation.
  • Coordinating Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Advisory Board meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree.
Possess the appropriate credentials specific to one or more of the concentrations offered
o Echocardiography, vascular, abdominal, & ob/gyn.
• Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance and In educational theories and techniques.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.

Approval of this position dependent upon funding availability.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree or higher.
