As a member of the Global Research team this role is part of our growth plan to extend our thought leadership across big themes and provide stock coverage of TMT stocks in the Americas to help all parts of the bank. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting economic developments and key trends in equity markets impacting the covered stocks/sector,  and providing timely views for internal/external clients. The client base is based in Asia usually UHNIs and there will be key institutional clients in other regions. In addition to achieving own scorecard metrics, the individual will be required to work together with colleagues to manage and achieve divisional business targets

As our Research Analyst you will:

  • Research coverage of requisite stocks as assigned by the Research Management
  • Maintain a consistent flow of high quality actionable research on covered stocks including timely updates on earning releases and any other significant events
  • Ensuring that there are timely updates in place for all stocks within the team’s coverage universe
  • Adhere to house structure and style. Work closely with Senior Analyst, Research Marketing, equity sales, sales trading, trading (market makers), to ensure dissemination of information and coordinated flow of information to clients
  • Proactively communicate research views to internal and external clients advising on covered sector/ stocks. Actively listen and adapt the communication style considering the audience while being open and honest
  • Strong understanding of one or more Equity sectors managed as well as companies within their remit. Should be able to spot key trends that drive investment views on covered equity sector and companies and utilizes them to generate actionable ideas
  • Overlay analytical skills with the full understanding of dynamics at play within their sector and/or companies to reflect them in the financial models and valuation concepts

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $125,000.00 and $150,000.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Product and idea driven – To provide best in class independent and insightful research products to our clients that are actionable and help our clients manage their portfolios.
  • Demonstrate unique and proprietary analysis – To analyse stocks and industries both on a local/regional and global basis in order to identify the best opportunities for clients based on their investing requirements and risk tolerances. For our analysts to utilise robust quantitative, equity strategy, and sensitivity analysis when analysing our coverage universe.
  • Being broad minded, open minded and curious is key to expanding our knowledge of our industries, companies and regions, as well as expanding our careers.
  • Able to offer our clients an independent product offering which represents the highest ethical standards based on robust analysis determined and be able to engender the support of a number of senior executives across Global Research who may have their own conflicting local pressures. 
  • FINRA SIE/7, 63, 86 and 87 for both roles.
