Job Summary

The University of Kentucky seeks a Research Program Administrator for a large, multi-site, multi-year grant in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. The Appalachian Tobacco Regulatory Research Team (AppalTRUST) is one of eight Tobacco Centers on Regulatory Science (TCORS) funded by NIH and FDA. The goal of AppalTrUST is to investigate the impact of Federal Drug Administration Center for Tobacco Products (FDA CTP) regulatory policies in rural communities, a vulnerable and understudied population, through collaboration, education and pioneering regulatory scientific research. Our three projects and four cores are designed to bridge the knowledge gap in rural tobacco use behaviors, guided by a definition of rurality that accounts for heterogeneity. Our approach is designed to inform the use of a health equity lens in shaping current, proposed, and future FDA regulatory actions to reduce rural tobacco use disparities.

This individual will provide administrative and operational leadership under the guidance of the AppalTRUST Leadership Team and in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines. Responsibilities include financial administration and oversight, grants administration and leadership including supervision, and leading strategic growth initiatives.

Prior research experience required, and experience working in a mental health setting preferred.

The position will require regular, full-time in-person work in Lexington, KY with occasional remote work available. The position may also require periodic travel to/from Eastern Kentucky.
