We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Senior Roadway Engineer to join our firm in Fort Worth, Texas. In this pivotal role, you will lead the charge in not only managing roadway design projects but also spearheading our efforts to grow our roadway team and service line in the region. The ideal candidate for this role will be a licensed Professional Engineer with substantial experience working on TxDOT projects.  Lochmueller Group is a growing engineering consulting firm with an emphasis on infrastructure.  We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including transportation design; water resources design; environmental analysis & permitting; construction engineering & inspection; traffic engineering & transportation planning; surveying; and land acquisition & appraisal. Key responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Business Development and Client Relations: Coordinate with the Roadway Discipline Leader and senior management to develop and implement strategies for regional market penetration. Develop new client relationships and seek out opportunities for new business with local agency and DOT clients. Represent the company at industry events and expand the company’s brand recognition within the region. Collaborate with the company’s other service lines to effectively promote our capabilities and cross-sell services. Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications.
  • Team Growth and Leadership: Collaborate with corporate staff and management to build a high-performing team; As the team grows, lead and manage a team or teams, including engineers and technicians. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Foster a positive workplace culture, exemplifying the company’s core values. Ensure the professional growth and development of department team members. Guide the team to deliver high-quality results.
  • Project Management and Delivery: Manage local agency and DOT roadway design projects. Ensure project deliverables are completed on time and within budget. Plan, organize, and direct activities of project teams and/or direct reports, including project management, design, and construction oversight. Perform QC/QA on project deliverables.
  • You may also be involved in other various responsibilities and projects in this role. 

Qualifications for this role:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in roadway design engineering with substantial TxDOT experience
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Demonstrated business development and client relations capabilities
  • Experience with project management and accounting software
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
