What You’ll Be Doing:

As a qualified Senior Accountant, you will be working on-site in Simi Valley as part of a small finance department, helping to support the month-end close cycle.  The department handles all accounting, report preparation, accounts payable and accounts receivable, audit, budget, and tax reporting. 

To thrive, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, with 5 years of progressive accounting experience; CPA strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial systems.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work occasional special events.

Your Duties and Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant Include:

  • Manage the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice payments.
  • Prepare reconciliations and post entries for multiple cash, merchant, and investment accounts, including researching and rectifying discrepancies.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in support of the month end close process.
  • Assist with annual audit and tax return preparation, including analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with state sales tax reporting and prepare monthly sales tax filings.
