Senior Accountant
Poughkeepsie, NY

Pay: $75,000 - $95,000/year (dependent on relevant experience)
Bonus Potential: 10%

Key qualifications:

  • Minimum Associates Degree in Accounting / Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Experience with Financial Analysis, General Accounting, Financial Statement Preparation and Corporate Accounting Systems
  • Proficient in MS Office with ability to learn & utilize new systems

Responsibilities

Prepare specific internal financial reports to assist and support management in achieving financial goals.

  • Reconcile all bank statements and assist with the master bank account reconciliation on a monthly basis
  • Perform analysis of select portions of the monthly preliminary financial statements
  • Enter weekly payroll entries related to bank transfers and all debit memos
  • Prepare and input vehicle journal entry and others as needed
  • Prepare the weekly UPS invoice for payment
  • Research credit card chargebacks and provide information to credit department

Assist, coordinate and prepare various external financial reports in order to comply with regulatory and other requirements

  • Review all customer tax-exempt certificates for accuracy, approve or reject
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns in all registered states for all companies
  • Assist in the mid-year and year-end audits
  • Prepare the annual Connecticut personal property tax return
  • Prepare all census returns

Assist with all general accounting documents related to SITECH Metro Northeast, LLC to ensure accurate recordkeeping and fulfill stakeholder’s obligations

  • Prepare cash receipt register for deposited funds or credit card payments and posting onto the customer accounts
  • Maintain customer accounts by matching payments to billings and process any account adjustments
  • Post and prepare all vendor invoices for payment, process check run, mail checks, and prepare disbursement register
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Maintain rental depreciation schedules
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and analysis

Assist in the annual budgeting process

  • Run the annual depreciation forecasts by department and create spreadsheets for budget depreciation
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget spreadsheets
  • Assist in reviewing completed budget spreadsheets and subsequent revisions
  • Prepare recap spreadsheet of all departments and update until finalized

Provide back-up support for weekly payroll and ADP corporate payroll position

  • Verify time cards, record hours worked and any pre-pays into ADP PC Payroll and import hours into ADP
  • Run and review employee change and pay data summary reports
  • Create PR files and send to ADP, receive Preview, check for errors, make corrections, accept/reject files and process final
  • Import and load pay files and reports / Print checks and reports / Prepare paychecks and distribute union stamps
  • Sort and distribute paychecks and file reports

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Hand coordination (typing and writing)
  • Frequent walking and potential need for climbing
  • Occasional forward bending and reaching
  • Carrying (up to 20lbs.)

Salary range

  • $75,000 - $95,000 per year
