Role Summary
The Senior Accountant position is fundamental to the financial reporting function of the organization. This position offers a chance to gain broad accounting, finance, and industry experience in a dynamic environment. Qualified candidates will be proven self-starters who desire to advance their accounting knowledge. The Senior Accountant reports to the Director of Financial Reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate preparation and filing of various financial regulatory reports
- Prepare and/or review GAAP and Statutory financial statements and filings.
- Participate in financial close process by preparing and/or reviewing journal entries and analyzing results.
- Create, analyze, and communicate monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports and ensure financial information has been recorded accurately.
- Coordinate and produce timely and accurate filings for company’s funding agreement-backed note (FABN) program.
- Assist project teams in various business transactions, including debt transactions.
- Provide technical accounting support to Company’s business units in their assessment of accounting issues.
- Analyze internal accounting controls and policies and implement changes and process improvements as needed.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
- Assist with drafting accounting policy memos.
- Train and mentor junior staff.
- This position is presently onsite/hybrid with the expectation that you are in the office three days per week with current campus days being Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (subject to change with advance notification and manager discretion).
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years’ experience in accounting, financial reporting, and/or auditing
- Bachelor's degree, concentration in accounting preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical accounting skills, with the ability to constructively combine US GAAP and/or Statutory accounting rules with real life business objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to think analytically and to apply analytical techniques to provide in-depth analysis and recommendations using critical thinking and sound judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organize own work and projects with minimal supervision, continually manage multiple priorities and execute within time constraints.
- Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve financial issues.

The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position.
