$130,000 - $150,000 per year

The successful candidate must have direct experience with administration and support of mission-critical Oracle databases and environments. Job functions include the following:

  • Perform activities related to day-to-day administration and maintenance of database systems
  • Provide expert support to ensure availability and recoverability of multiple database environments, including automated monitoring and alerting
  • Support multiple development teams in database design/updates, deployments, and troubleshooting 
  • Conduct performance analysis and tuning.
  • Conduct monthly security patch deployment planning and testing, and resolve issues to ensure all database management systems are available after patching.
  • Support activities such as creating accounts, granting and removing privileges, creating and distributing account reports, and enforcing application security using means supported within the DBMS.
  • Support installation, configuration, maintenance, and support across multiple Database Management Systems.
  • Determine database size, growth rate, and space requirements, and establish backup strategy for databases.

Preference will be given to candidates local to the DC Metro area. ​The projected compensation range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 (annualized USD). The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal pay equity, location, contract-specific affordability and other organizational requirements.

Required Skills
  • At least six (6) years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle administration.
  • Hands-on experience managing backups and restores natively or through third party tools.
  • Ability to automate redundant processes.
  • Experience in troubleshooting database.
  • Possess strong analytical and technical skills and is capable of assisting in various areas of business solutions implementation and integration.
  • Must be able to successfully complete the federal background investigation.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of of an agile team.
  • United States Citizenship.


Desirable Skills
  • Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL
  • Experience with developing PL/SQL stored procedures and triggers.
  • Experience with different Extraction, Transformation, and Loading tools.
  • Experience with data replication across database environments
  • Experience with Network monitoring tools.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, AWS RDS
  • Experience working in an AWS Cloud environment
  • Experience supporting federal government customers
  • Active federal government public trust clearance

Salary range

  • $130,000 - $150,000 per year
