Position Purpose: 

The Senior OT Security Engineer role is responsible for managing key OT security vendors and service agreements and enhancing the OT Cyber security controls capabilities of Veolia North America. He/she is responsible for ensuring adherence to the Veolia OT Security framework, roadmap, policies, and standards. In addition, he/she will take the lead in addressing both internal and external requirements regarding OT Security matters.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of Veolia North America’s OT Security policies and standards.
  • Take lead in addressing both internal and external requirements regarding OT security matters.
  • Responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of OT systems.
  • Provide technical advisory expertise for the support of OT security systems and solutions.
  • Responsible for the asset and risk management of OT systems.
  • Develop and/or enhance OT security monitoring, detection and response (MDR) capabilities.
  • Partner with business stakeholders on achieving company goals.
  • Work with Veolia North America Security Operations team to develop an OT incident response plan.
  • Communicate Information Security policies, procedures and best practices to OT business stakeholders.
  • This role has a primary responsibility to the regulated business of Veolia North America.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, and / or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in security with a minimum of 2 years in OT Security.
  • A strong working knowledge of the typical OT systems platform landscape.
  • Experience of working with IT & OT (Engineering, Automation, Lab) stakeholders in the delivery of OT solution.
  • Basic knowledge of OT security concepts & implementation (e.g., OT Cybersecurity Standards IEC 62443 / NIST.SP.800-82r3).
  • Basic knowledge of OT asset management & discovery tools (e.g., Claroty, Nozomi, ServiceNow OTM).
  • Knowledge of ISA95 Enterprise Control System Integration framework.
  • Knowledge of OT systems (e.g. Rockwell, Schneider, Siememes, etc.).
  • Experience weighing costs, developing business cases, defining short and long term strategies.
  • Strong vendor management experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to play an active role in a strong, cohesive and collaborative team.
  • Must have strong customer service and ability to speak with all levels in the organization.
  • Assist in the development of the strategic direction and vision for the enterprise.
  • Exceptional communication and motivational skills.
  • Budget forecast and reporting experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with high priorities.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • Required security certification such as CISSP, CISA, or other relevant professional certifications.
  • Obtained (or will obtain within 2 years of employment) IEC/ISA Level 4 or SANS’ GICSP.
  • In lieu of certification, minimum of (6) six years’ experience in Cybersecurity.
  • Prefer a minimum of (2) two years' experience in OT Security.
  • Some level of Fortinet certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • The working environment is professional business. Work is generally performed in an office environment with standard office equipment.
  • Travel to other Veolia or client offices and project sites may be required.
