Position Summary: 

Join our team as a Staff Accountant, responsible for managing core accounting duties to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. You’ll follow and help improve internal controls, support accounts payable, serve as a payroll back-up, and manage monthly bank reconciliations. You'll also collaborate internally on our Dayforce time and attendance system and provide essential financial assistance to administrative functions. 

This hybrid role, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Reporting & Legal Services, offers flexibility with two in-office days per week in Bethlehem, PA. 

How You’ll Impact Results: 

  • General Accounting Duties: Manage prepaid accounting functions, including real estate taxes and corporate insurance. Ensure monthly bank reconciliations and corresponding journal entries are completed. 
  • Internal Accounting Policies: Ensure the company’s interests are protected by managing and updating accounting policies and controls.  
  • Annual Audit:Assist with annual audit activities by coordinating schedules, communicating with departments, and overseeing compliance with audit comments. 
  • Tax Credits & Grants: File annual tax credit paperwork and collaborate on grant funding documentation. 
  • Corporate Credit Card Program: Manage credit card programs, including Travel & Entertainment (T&E) policies, audits, and approval guidelines. 
  • Change Management: Encourage and drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives among colleagues. 
  • Continuous Improvement:Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste, drive cost savings, and support company growth. 
  • Accounts Payable: Process incoming AP mail (via Esker and hard mail), verify invoices, and match with support documents. Communicate with internal personnel and vendors to obtain approvals and ensure timely posting of invoices in SAP. 
  • Payroll: Serve as a back-up for bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy of data, adjustments, and 401(k) contributions. 
  • Dayforce Time & Attendance: Manage non-union, non-exempt hours input into payroll for the Bethlehem facility. Monitor attendance and vacation balances.
  •  Operational Audits: Oversee operational audit processes to ensure risk mitigation and alignment with company needs.
  • 1099 Processing: year-end 1099 processing and address any related inquiries. 
  • Additional duties & responsibilities required as needed 

Your Qualifications That Will Ensure Success:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required 
  • 1+ years of related accounting experience required OR a recent college graduate with Accounting/Finance Degree and internship experience 
  • Knowledgeable in accounting & financial best practices, principles, and financial software 
  • Proven written & verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate, collaborate, and influence effectively across all levels of the organization 
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills with the ability to plan and prioritize tasks in a complex fast-paced environment 
  • SAP or other ERP knowledge/usage experience is preferred 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite of products, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills preferred
