Job Summary
The Department of Environmental Health at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health seeks a Faculty Assistant to provide administrative support to the Director of Harvard Chan C-CHANGE and its GEOHealth India program. The Center for Climate, Health and the Global Environment (C-CHANGE) conducts solutions-based research to inform climate actions that build a healthy, more just, and sustainable world. The GEOHealth India program examines the impact of air pollution in India, and trains Indian scientists so that they can assess and respond to environmental health concerns in their home country.
Position Description
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performs a range of administrative support duties for the Director of C-CHANGE such as maintaining the Director's complex calendars, arranging for meetings, appointments and travel
- Uses multiple technical applications including word processing, spreadsheets, graphics and presentation software, electronic calendar, email, and other technical/scientific applications
- Composing and editing letters, lecture/course materials, presentations
- May assist with reimbursement for travel, corporate cards
- Receives visitors and answers routine inquiries from students, staff and faculty
- Separately assist with adminstiration of the GEOHealth India project, a training grant
- Making travel arrangements for faculty and trainees, helping newly-appointed trainees with logistics of a semester-long visit to HSPH, including finding housing, and getting oriented to Boston
- Work with other staff to provide information necessary for visa applications, hiring, and Harvard Sponsored Role status.
- Assist with reimbursements and corporate card, with scheduling routine meetings, with maintaining trainee databases, and preparing reports and presentations
- Performing other duties as assigned
PLEASE NOTE: This position has a term appointment of one year from the date of hire with the possibility of extension.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience is required; a combination of education and experience may be considered
Additional Qualifications and Skills
The following job-specific skills and competencies are preferred:
- College degree preferred, or an equivalent of education plus experience in an office environment.
- Experience with office administration and customer service skills
- Solid working knowledge of office processes and systems, and of related computer software and electronic communications tools
- Proven interpersonal skills with experience providing complex administrative support to one or more
- Experience working across teams and with a variety of projects and constituencies

Work Format Details
This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
