We are looking for a talented Structural Project Engineer / Project Manager to join our Structural Engineering team in Missouri. The ideal candidate for this role will be a Professional Engineer with experience as a project engineer and/or project manager working on DOT or local agency bridge design projects.  Lochmueller Group is a regional engineering consulting firm with an emphasis on infrastructure.  We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including transportation design; water resources design; environmental analysis & permitting; construction engineering & inspection; traffic engineering & transportation planning; surveying; and land acquisition & appraisal. In this position, the candidate will:

  • Perform as a project engineer and/or project manager on a variety of DOT and local agency projects related to bridge design.
  • Apply advanced, specialized knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of bridge design.
  • Work on a major project or several major projects of moderate scope with complex features.
  • Leading the preparation of complete design and construction documents for bridge projects.
  • Plan and coordinate aspects of the engineering work.
  • Provide bridge inspection services.
  • Assist management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
  • Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Assist with preparation of proposals and funding applications.
  • As opportunities present themselves, this role may also be involved in other various responsibilities and projects. 

Qualifications for this role:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering; Structural emphasis is helpful
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 8+ years of Structural Engineering experience with an emphasis on bridge design projects
  • Experience with project management and accounting software is beneficial
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
