Technical Specialist – Nursing Success Coach

Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) System, is conducting a search for a full-time, grant-funded Technical Specialist – Nursing Success Coach. This position provides academic and personal support services for nursing students at Jefferson Community College. Duties and responsibilities include successful recruitment, enrollment, advisement, and retention of nursing students. Responsibilities also include utilizing best-practices in individual and group meetings with students to support their academic and personal development, responding to academic alerts regarding students, utilizing technology resources, and conducting programming for student success.  This position may involve a non-traditional work schedule including evening and weekend work assignments. Professional staff are expected to advance the College's focus on student success and completion and will work closely with the College's leadership to advance the mission of the Strategic Plan 2020-2025.

Required: Associate’s degree in nursing and minimum of three years of experience in a preceptor or formal mentor or educator role for registered nurses; excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal; current unencumbered NYS RN licensure

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing; experience as a clinical nursing instructor or nurse educator; experience with simulation technology; experience in higher education; proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

Advertised Salary: $50,000 - $60,000.
