Technician, Library Multimedia
Job Summary
The Library Multimedia Technician provides expertise to students, staff and faculty regarding software and media equipment, and performs setups and strikes in our event space. This position also collaborates with library staff regarding graphics for promotional materials.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Customer Service
- Performs various basic-level technical duties in the Multimedia Support Center. Provides technical support to end users and others. Provides orientation and audio/visual assistance to students, faculty, and staff in the use of the multimedia support inside the Library studio and lab.
Technical Support
- Tests and troubleshoots technical equipment. Performs general repairs to technical equipment, and identifies need for major repairs for referral to skilled repair technicians.
- Performs A/V equipment set-ups and strikes in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that equipment is correctly configured and operating properly for the event.
- Confers with other skilled technicians to resolve difficult technical problems.
Program Support
- Produces and creates graphics and visual or audio images for illustrations, logos, social media, the library homepage and library events.
- Provides user-centered design expertise from concept to delivery.
- Creates, edits, and distributes content to support campus initiatives.

- Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attends all required department meetings and training.
- Communicates any concerns related to building operations to appropriate contacts.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Associate’s degree in a technical field of study closely related to the function of the position.
- One (1) year of professional experience in a closely related technical field. *An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify a candidate.
- Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 12:00 pm -7:00 pm
