To teach and develop CRIMINAL JUSTICE courses while furthering the goals of the program, department, college, and community college system.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
65%&nbsp;&nbsp; A.&nbsp; TEACHING:&nbsp; Develop and teach CRIMINAL JUSTICE courses to a diverse student population using both traditional and alternative delivery formats (hybrid, web, cohort, accelerated).&nbsp; Prepare course syllabi, course materials, evaluate student learning and maintain class records.
20%&nbsp; &nbsp;B. &nbsp;SERVICE/OUTREACH:&nbsp; Participate in program/curriculum development and assessment, student advising, department meetings, and college boards and committees.&nbsp; Perform related duties as assigned.
15%&nbsp; &nbsp;C.&nbsp; PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:&nbsp; Participate in continuing professional development to improve teaching, evaluation of student learning and classroom technique.

Marginal tasks performed include the operation of standard office equipment such as computers and copy machines.
JOB STANDARDS:

<li>Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from a regionally accredited institution.</li>
<li>Minimum one-year related teaching experience at the postsecondary level</li>
<li>Understanding and acceptance of the comprehensive community college philosophy.</li>
<li>Professional experience in Criminal Justice field preferred.</li>
</ul>
Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% of full-time experience.
CRITICAL SKILLS/EXPERTISE/EXPERIENCE:

<li>experience teaching criminal justice</li>
<li>experience using multiple teaching formats, including web-based and traditional on-campus modalities preferred</li>
<li>experience teaching in a community college preferred</li>

JOB LOCATION:
Candidates should be prepared to teach at any of the college’s campuses, or online as needed.&nbsp; Travel between sites may be required.
EQUIPMENT:
Some use of telephone, computer equipment, overhead projector, fax machines and other standard office equipment is required.&nbsp; Facility with computer communication systems, learning management systems, and visual aid production a must.
