DIESEL POWERED EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the full-time position of Diesel Powered Equipment Technology Instructor in the Diesel-Powered Equipment Technology program. This position will be at the Parsons Extension Campus in Parsons, TN.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency.&nbsp; Associate Degree preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum five (5) years of experience in the diesel field.</li>
<li>Must possess a high degree of knowledge of all areas involved in the diesel field to include heavy equipment and farm machinery.</li>
<li>Must possess a current Master ASE Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Certification or the ability to become certified within twelve (12) calendar months.</li>
<li>Must commit to remain Master Certified and maintain program accreditation.</li>
<li>ASE Certification in Automotive Technology a plus.</li>
<li>Strong hands-on technical background in preventative maintenance, diesel engines, electrical/electronics, brakes, drive train, suspension and steering, and heating-ventilation and air-conditioning.</li>
<li>Must possess the organizational and communications skills necessary to be an effective teacher and to interact with high school and adult students.</li>
<li>Must show evidence of good character, mature attitude and stable personality.</li>
<li>Must possess computer skills.</li>
</ul>
GENERAL DUTIES:&nbsp; The Diesel Powered Equipment Technology Instructor is responsible for providing individualized classroom and lab instruction to students.&nbsp; The Instructor must monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students’ progress, maintain student records in the college’s student records management software, maintain appropriate documentation, and submit timely reports.&nbsp; The instructor must also maintain good public relations with related business and industry, maintain an active advisory committee, cooperate with outside agencies and supervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperative education.&nbsp;
Other duties include curriculum development, student recordkeeping, and student recruitment, placement, follow-up of program graduates, participation in professional development activities, and participation in student organizations.&nbsp; Some travel is required.
SALARY:&nbsp; Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines.

For extenuating circumstances in which office hours cannot be scheduled, the adjunct faculty member must submit a written plan to the Dean describing how students can access the instructor. Office hours are not paid during the summer session.
 Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university in the Electrical Engineering Technology teaching field or closely related field and three years’ work experience in the Electrical Engineering Technology field
 Availability/Closing Date: This posting is not a guarantee of an open position. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring and summer.
