POSITION SUMMARY The Assistant Director will serve as a leader within the Office of High School Initiatives and Dual Enrollment, providing strategic vision and direction for dual enrollment, Early College, and dual credit programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, implement and manage dual enrollment programs in partnership with local high schools and higher education institutions. Develop, implement and manage Early College programs in partnership with local high schools and higher education institutions. Directly supervise the high school coordinator and Gear-Up grant manager. Manage academic progress of Early College students and recommend appropriate academic support opportunities. This includes tracking data and maintaining notes for each assigned student. Oversee the recruitment of new dual enrollment students, including coordination with school district partners and other College offices.
Develop and implement strategies to improve retention and academic success for both Early College and dual enrollment students. Oversee the department in the absence of the director. Develop marketing and outreach strategies to promote dual enrollment opportunities to students, parents and high school administrators. Conduct workshops, information sessions, and training for students, parents, and educators to explain the benefits and requirements of dual enrollment programs. Collect and analyze data on program outcomes, student performance and enrollment trends to support informed decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with state regulations, accreditation standards and institutional policies related to dual enrollment. Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, including grant applications, progress reports and evaluation summaries. Develop and maintain partnerships with local school districts, community organizations and other stakeholders to expand access to dual enrollment opportunities. Assist students, parents, high school advisors, principals and staff with the admissions process, including the dual enrollment grant.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Three (3) years of experience working in a higher education setting in student services, program coordination or a related role or coordinating early post-secondary opportunities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Five (5) years of experience in dual enrollment programs, college readiness initiatives and/or secondary/postsecondary education systems.
Bilingual fluency in English and Arabic or Spanish is highly preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, educators and community partners. Proficiency in data analysis, report preparation and program evaluation. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. The Senior Director collaborates to align advising services with institutional priorities and improve student retention and success rates.This is a hybrid position with three days per week on campus.PRINCIPLE DUTIES Leadership and Strategic Planning· Develop and implement a strategic plan to integrate advising and student support services, ensuring equity and access.· Provide visionary leadership for the Student Advising Division within Student Support, aligning with institutional goals.· Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of Student Advising Leadership and Student Support Counselors. Student Advising· Oversee high-quality advising and student support for a diverse student population, including undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, first generation, transfer, and at-risk students.· Ensure holistic support of students academic, personal, and professional goals.· Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor and improve advising outcomes, including retention and completion rates. Student Support Initiatives· Develop targeted interventions for students with barriers to completion around financial, academic, and personal challenges.· Provide expertise on university policies and procedures, including the initiation and completion of documentation to support students facing extenuating circumstances impacting enrollment and persistence.· Partner with campus departments to offer wraparound support for student finance, mental health, disability, military, and international services. Collaboration and Campus Partnerships· Work collaboratively with academic departments, including leadership, faculty, and support staff, to deliver coordinated support.· Partner with Career Services, Student Life and Events, Student Wellness, Title IX, and Academic Support departments to refer students and provide wraparound support. Assessment and Continuous Improvement· Design and implement metrics to assess the effectiveness of advising and student support programs.· Use data to guide decision-making and improve program effectiveness and efficiency.
