Location New York City (hybrid) Position Summary The VP, Director of Accounting will play a key role on the Accounting team and work closely with the EVP of Accounting / Finance &amp; HR as well as the SVP of Accounting to ensure the department operates effectively and efficiently.&nbsp; This includes issuing timely and complete financial statements, meeting all internal and external reporting deadlines while providing high quality in-depth financial analysis.&nbsp; This position will be responsible for managing the daily accounting functions utilizing best practices and ensuring high level performance of the newly implemented SAGE Intacct software. A successful candidate will be extremely detail oriented with excellent organizational skills, a team player to complete departmental tasks and possess the ability to adapt to an evolving business structure in a high growth environment.&nbsp; This position will assist with strategic initiatives and fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned. Primary Responsibilities:<ul><li>Assist with preparation and accuracy of monthly financial statements by prescribed deadlines.</li><li>Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.</li><li>Assist with the creation and review of the annual and monthly department budgets and forecasts.</li><li>Assist with monthly cash flow projection report to ensure proper liquidity to meet operational needs.</li><li>Analyze financial data (balance sheet and income statement) on a monthly basis and provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision making.</li><li>Coordinate with the EVP &amp; SVP to ensure timely completion of audits and preparation and filing of tax returns.</li><li>Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations excluding AR &amp; AP.</li><li>Ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures.</li><li>Assist with implementation, enhancement and maintenance of ERP system ensuring data integrity and optimizing processes.</li><li>Supervise accounting staff.</li><li>Maintain and if applicable, document accounting policies and procedures and contribute to efforts to streamline processes and implement best practices. </li><li>Provide financial analysis and support for special projects, acquisitions or other initiatives.</li></ul>Professional Experience and Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting</li><li>Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and/or MBA is highly desirable </li><li>Minimum 7-10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience; including 3+ years in an accounting managerial role</li><li>Experience in Not-for-profit accounting is advantageous </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Exceptional knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Knowledge of taxes, including unrelated business income tax (UBIT) and other relevant tax regulations</li><li>Strong analytical skills to develop and implement improvements and recommendations</li><li>Proven ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives and staff at all levels, as well as mentor and lead team members</li><li>Experience with accounting software system implementation and development is a plus, SAGE Intacct experience preferred.</li></ul>Salary and Total Rewards Package Starting pay range:&nbsp; $130,000 to $140,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
