Director of Home Health

Howmet Engine Systems (HES) seeks a highly qualified Director of Quality.&nbsp; They will be&nbsp;responsible for all aspects of Quality for multiple manufacturing facilities, including&nbsp;systems&nbsp;(Management System) and results (delivered quality&nbsp;measured&nbsp;in ppm and financial&nbsp;impact) through&nbsp;ensuring appropriate and functioning system&nbsp;of checks and balances that&nbsp;facilitate operations.&nbsp; The Director of Quality is the Business Unit (BU) lead&nbsp;for customer interface with Aero and IGT customers, and leads customer interface activities for communication, particularly quality system, technical issues, continual improvement, corrective action, and, when necessary,&nbsp;containment.&nbsp; Position location is flexible but subject to the discretion of the HES Vice President of Quality. Primary Responsibilities: <ul><li>Responsible for establishing&nbsp;and leading the&nbsp;deployment of Process Quality Management for the purpose of improving process performance&nbsp;and&nbsp;stability through&nbsp;the effective&nbsp;deployment of process quality&nbsp;management and statistical&nbsp;process control.</li><li>Supervise&nbsp;PEER Audit Manager and NDT Manager for compliance, performance and Continual&nbsp;Improvement (CI) in operations and non-destructive&nbsp;testing (NDT) processes.</li><li>Develop team members by coaching and&nbsp;teaching appropriate plant quality managers and mentor select quality engineers.</li><li>Develop and&nbsp;implement specific quality&nbsp;improvement plans for associated&nbsp;manufacturing plants.</li><li>Interface with the customer ensuring&nbsp;common understanding&nbsp;of customer quality requirements.</li><li>Reduction&nbsp;of cost of poor quality (cost structure) through proactive risk mitigation, inspection rationalization&nbsp;and&nbsp;reduction of internal and external failures.</li><li>Co-lead the Business&nbsp;Unit (BU) Corrective Action&nbsp;Board&nbsp;which addresses all customer and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd&nbsp;party&nbsp;major audit findings.</li><li>Build supportive teams through partnership with various BU segment leaders.</li><li>Champion deployment of proactive quality tools within the framework APQP/NPI Process.</li><li>Lead with conviction and bias for continuous improvement and product safety management.</li><li>Candidate&nbsp;will be required to interface with&nbsp;peers&nbsp;In the QA Organization, BU&nbsp;Lead Team, Plant Managers,&nbsp;plant process/product engineering, Sales and Plant QA personnel. &nbsp;In addition, candidate will be required to meet with&nbsp;customer QA representatives and select customer Leadership.</li><li>Position requires frequent communication&nbsp;with&nbsp;all HES locations via multiple media communication&nbsp;on-site.</li><li>Frequent travel is required. (50 -75%). Candidate will be required to travel extensively to assigned HES plants and customer locations – domestic and international.</li><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need to remain flexible as schedule changes may occur with multiple priorities simultaneously.</li></ul> Basic Qualifications: <ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferably in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics, or&nbsp;Science</li><li>Minimum of 10 years of&nbsp;experience&nbsp;leading manufacturing&nbsp;process improvement, including deploying&nbsp;Process Management and Statistical Methods in a&nbsp;user-friendly manner to manufacturing operation personnel</li><li>Strong math and statistical capability</li><li>Must be able to meet travel requirement</li><li>Superior verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external personnel at all levels of the organization</li><li>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
