Job Summary
Working under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager, Mechanic Lead Worker or designee. Part-Time Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the general and technical maintenance and repair of all facilities, equipment, and furnishings involving a variety of building trades. Performs assigned tasks to maintain the physical operations of the college, aesthetics of all facilities, and ensure a safe environment for students and staff. Job Duties
• Maintain and repair various HVAC systems and controls. (Chilled water, VRF, Geothermal, Hybrid geothermal systems, with pneumatic, electronic controls)
• Preventive Maintenance on heating and air-conditioning systems to include adding refrigerant; washing coils; changing filters, belts, bearings, and electrical components.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, electrical systems, (i.e. electrical circuits, fixtures, outlets, timers, motor controls, electric motors, etc.)
• Maintain plumbing systems to include fixtures, piping, water heaters, wastewater and drainage.
• Perform planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
• Maintain all underground utilities.
• Maintain all door locks and door hardware including records, repairs, and cutting keys.
• Collaborating and working with outside contractors.
• Maintain facility finishes throughout the campus.
• Knowledge of the department and work area’s mission and its appropriate application.

The option to work both Saturday and Sunday is potentially available.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Hands-on operation and maintenance of several mammalian cell cultures in shake flasks and bench-scale bioreactors.</li><li>Multi-task to support simultaneous upstream experiments across numerous projects.</li><li>Perform documentation and monitoring of cell culture trends.</li><li>Elevate any anomalous bioreactor behavior observed to full-time employees and assist in troubleshooting efforts.</li><li>Support high-throughput cell culture experiments and process scale-up activities.</li><li>Demonstrate accountability in maintaining the integrity of critical experiments over the weekends.</li></ul>Key Competencies:<ul><li>Candidates who are currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a field related to chemical engineering, bio-chemical engineering, or biology preferred.</li><li>Working knowledge of aseptic technique for maintenance and scale-up of mammalian cell cultures preferred.</li><li>Competent computer skills.
