Prospective applicants should be interested in multidisciplinary transportation research and working on a broad range of topics. The Center performs research in several areas for local, state, and federal transportation agencies. Research foci include highway design, project management; pavement design and maintenance; infrastructure assessment and roadway forensic analysis; construction management; highway and infrastructure safety; structural engineering and preservation; intelligent transportation systems; economic, financial, and policy dimensions of transportation; traffic operations; and environmental analysis. The Research Scientist Principal occupies the role of technical specialist within KTC and is responsible for study design and the development and application of unique methodologies.
