The Peer Counselor is responsible for assisting in the delivery of direct services to participants, from the perspective of the person he/she is serving and not necessarily what recovery looks like to a provider.&nbsp; The Peer Counselor provides a variety of services, ranging from the teaching of skills to delivery of concrete services to providing counseling to clients. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: <ul><li>Provides direct care services to clients.</li><li>Responsible for documentation of clients assigned to as well as documentation relating to other clients progress.</li><li>Facilitate support and educational groups for clients.</li><li>Educate staff about peer perspective, person-centered language, rights and protections, and alternatives.</li><li>Educates and assures that consumers know their rights and responsibilities and assists consumers with identifying their options and participating in all decisions related to establishing and achieving goals.</li><li>Provides rehabilitative support services in daily living skills, health services and others as assigned.</li><li>Provides Wellness Self-Management training and assists participants in developing the scoping skills and strategies that help to promote recovery.</li><li>Participate in program meetings and attend supervision regularly.</li><li>Accompany consumers to appointments if needed to provide additional support and understanding.</li><li>Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.&nbsp;</li></ul> Salary: $19.00/hr.&nbsp; Position Requirements Must have High School Diploma and Peer Support Credentials. Valid driver's license is a must. Must have familiarity with benefits and entitlements. The individual in this position must possess the ability to communicate effectively, guide others through the self-help process and make sound judgments regarding care. &nbsp;Experience with travel training, facilitating peer support &amp; educational groups and/or assisting others with ADL skills required. Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: <ul><li>Provides direct care services to clients.</li><li>Responsible for documentation of clients assigned to as well as documentation relating to other clients progress.</li><li>Monitors the site, coordinates and participates in house activities such as preparation of meals, chore activities, recreational activities, safety checks etc.</li><li>Provide rehabilitative support services in daily living skills, health services and others as assigned.&nbsp;</li><li>Monitors medication; does medication counts; prepares medication sheets.</li><li>Assists with transportation of clients.</li><li>Performs unit inspections, trains and assists residents to maintain cleanliness of individual units</li><li>Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.</li></ul> Salary: $41,600/yr.&nbsp; Position Requirements Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent along with at least two years of experience in a similar role.
