Instructors provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class. The major emphasis for instructors is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a variety of formats and at several different locations, as well as online. Instructors also communicate with students between classes and are responsible for several administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity and submitting final grades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.
2. Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
3. Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.&nbsp;
4. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
5. Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.&nbsp;
6. Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.&nbsp;
7. Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
Qualifications:&nbsp;EMT Instructor Assistant (I/A) with the state of Tennessee and Instructor for BLS with American Heart Association. 
Availability/Closing Date:&nbsp;This posting is not a guarantee of an open position.  Position Summary:&nbsp;The overall purpose of this job is to manage and operate all science laboratories on campus. Main functions include preparing science experiments, as well as obtaining all supplies, materials, and equipment needed by the faculty and students in the laboratories through college channels, and setting these out in an orderly fashion. This includes such things as preparing chemicals, reagents, and solutions, growing plants, properly disposing of chemical and biohazard waste, updating SDS information and other safety protocols, maintaining a clean/safe environment in the laboratories, cleaning up after experiments, and making sure equipment is accounted for and in working order. Another responsibility is to communicate with the laboratory instructors to help with troubleshooting minor issues during class. As a member of a site campus, this person is expected to engage with the campus community at that site campus. All of these are done with a team attitude to the benefit of our students and the goals of our college.
Duties and Responsibilities:
42% Set up laboratory for both lab experiments and for lab practicals with required supplies, materials, and equipment; take down the same. Lab setups include laboratory courses in General Biology, General Chemistry Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology.
20% Clean up lab(s), including sanitation, waste disposal, maintenance and/or repair laboratory equipment, and models, ensuring proper storage of equipment, keeping accurate/up to date inventory of lab models and equipment
10% Order &amp; obtain needed supplies through communication with the Lead Laboratory Technician and other department members.
10% Prepare chemical reagents and solutions; and operate various equipment as needed to accomplish these tasks.
5% Communicate lab needs to Lead Laboratory Technician and serve as liaison between lab instructors and course lead instructors.
5% Ensure a safe laboratory environment through proper disposal of chemical/biohazardous waste, update SDS files, proper labeling of chemicals and reagents, test safety equipment, create visual aids in the lab(s) to inform instructors and students of required lab safety guidelines and practices, inform instructors of updated and/or current safety standards
5% Assist with site campus activities and miscellaneous projects as assigned by the campus dean.
3% Travel to other branch campuses as needed to attend meetings/trainings, assist other lab technicians, etc.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a natural science such as Chemistry or Biology. No career experience is required, however the laboratory experience required to obtain a degree in the natural sciences should be sufficient; additional laboratory work experience outside of what is required to obtain a degree in the natural sciences would be preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY Provides proctor services for exams and interprets placement test results. Upholds proctoring standards and rules for all tests conducted.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Completes annual proctor certification exams. Proctors online and conventional pen/paper tests. Interprets and implements vendor test protocols for students. Maintains surveillance of testing labs to ensure there are no violations of student guidelines. Coordinates with the Access Center accommodated testing space and proctor availability. Facilitates approved student accommodations in the Testing Center. Verifies accommodated student appointment in the AIM system. Builds appointment in Register Blast system.
Updates and maintains an appropriate manual of test procedure guidelines and passwords. Interprets placement test results for individuals and appropriate departments. Maintains security and accountability of tests. Processes, documents and reports testing irregularities and incidents to supervisors. Communicates necessary testing guidelines and information to examinees. Serves as a liaison between the Online Learning Office and the Testing Center. Collects, coordinates, and distributes web test materials to the main campus and to all College Testing Centers.
