This is a part-time temporary, fiscal year laboratory technician position under general supervision of the Department Head of Natural Sciences. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for operating, repairing, and maintaining complex electronic laboratory equipment and performing related work as required. He/she may work one day a week, away from his/her regular office at the Union Avenue Campus.
Job Duties

<li>Facilitates/recommends the purchases of chemical, biological, scientific, or maintenance materials for laboratories at the Union campus, Whitehaven Center, and Maxine Smith Center.</li>
<li>Orders, stocks, and inventories chemicals and other supplies for Biotechnology, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, and Physics labs.</li>
<li>Maintains paperwork on purchase requisitions, inventory, and allotted supply budgets.</li>
<li>Maintains an ordered chemical supply room with proper labeling for ease of use.</li>
<li>Maintains a separate supply room for glassware, plastics, tubing, personal safety materials, and equipment.</li>
<li>Follows preventive maintenance programs for laboratory equipment.</li>
<li>Makes independent decisions on laboratory stock, equipment maintenance, and personal safety.</li>
<li>Prepares materials for each lab as needed by faculty members; responsible for dissection materials, chemical solution preparation, and all associated laboratory equipment.</li>

These duties include but are not limited to: working on door closers, hinges and doors, installing sheetrock, changing filters, greasing pumps, cleaning coils, changing belts, greasing and changing bearings, servicing pumps &amp; motors, repairing toilets &amp; sinks, and servicing/maintaining/tracking equipment and inventory relevant to the department. Title: Laboratory Technician, Humphreys County Campus and Dickson Campus
POSITION SUMMARY This position provides a broad range of specialized laboratory support and guidance to full-time faculty and adjuncts for laboratory science courses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works independently under the direction of science faculty. Sets up supplies, materials and equipment for biology and chemistry laboratories, both for individual stations and for instructor-led demonstrations. Prepares specimens, cultures and slides for biology, anatomy and physiology and microbiology labs. Operates the autoclave and other associated lab equipment.
Assists with and maintains inventory in the science area at the Humphreys County campus and Dickson campus. Assists other campuses with inventory of equipment as needed. Prepares purchase orders and receives shipments for the sciences. Assists instructors during laboratory sessions, when appropriate. Assists in other science areas as necessary. Responsible for supporting additional campuses in Davidson County. Occasional travel to other campuses required. Performs minor repairs of equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Minimum of three years of professional lab experience is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior experience in a higher education setting
Knowledge of biology or a related area, such as medical laboratory technology, veterinary science, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of biological procedures and techniques, including safety practices and material handling. Job Title: Temporary Part-time Bus Driver
Campus Location:&nbsp;Morristown Campus (Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)
Job Purpose:&nbsp;The purpose of this position is to safely transport students, faculty and/or staff to and from events, including athletic and student club functions or field trips. Trips/destinations will be within a four (4) hour or less radius.
Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>Operates, cleans, maintains, and fuels, a 54 passenger bus. Maintains accurate records of hours of service and miles driven. Conduct pre-trip inspections prior to each trip and post -trip inspection after each trip. Report any needed repairs or observations regarding vehicle performance to Mechanic Supervisor and/or Logistics Coordinator.</li>
<li>May perform other duties as required.</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or an equivalent 
</li>
<li>Tennessee Commercial Drivers License, Class B license with Passenger endorsement 
</li>
<li>Department of Transportation physical card 
</li>
<li>Thorough knowledge of Tennessee Department of Transportation rules and regulation regarding right of way, signage, railroad crossings, etc. 
</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Minimum two years CDL/Bus driving experience with good driving record and stable work history. 
</li>
<li>Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance repair and preventive maintenance procedures 
</li>
<li>Knowledge of required first aide equipment and basic first aid procedures 
</li>

Title: Testing Technician II (Temporary Part-Time)
 Department: Testing Center
 Campuses: Work on different site campuses (Hardin Valley, Strawberry Plains, Division Street, Blount County)
Closing Date: Open Until Filled
 Type of Appointment: Temporary Part-Time
 Pay Rate: $16.00/Hr
 Work Hours: Temporary Contract. Up to 6-32 hours per week as needed and be on call or fill-in as needed (Work some Saturdays from 8 a.m.- 1 p.m.)
Position Summary: The overall purpose of this job is: The Testing Center is responsible for the testing activities of PSCC. These primarily include administration, proctoring and proper security of testing materials. We also administer basic skills assessment tests, class testing for teachers including on line courses, testing for off campus agencies, other colleges and universities and the administration of DSST and CLEP exams.
Typical Duties &amp; Responsibilities:
85% Test Administration
1. Operates Testing Centers with or without Testing Technician I (checks in students, pulls student tests, finds passwords, handles student/instructor concerns, seats examinees, helps examinees log-on to computers, starts timing instruments as needed, collects completed tests and testing materials, watches examinees to ensure administration conditions are met in the Testing Centers, etc.).
2. Successfully complete requirement necessary to achieve certification to administer a number of standardized exams, such as CLEP, DSST, Pearson-Vue and HISET.
3. Explains individual testing requirements to students—procedures and resolves any misunderstandings using appropriate customer service and management techniques. 4. Collaborate with faculty regarding test revisions, availability of tests, and guidelines and testing options for various tests.
5. Prepare an Incident Report to document irregularities, testing discrepancies, or dishonesty and forward report and copies of pertinent materials to faculty and Test Supervisor.
6. Maintains an optimal testing environment that adheres to college, standardized and National College Testing Association (NCTA) standards.
7. Collaborates with Supervisor, Test Administrators, and other testing staff regarding improving/changing testing operations, staffing, and updating of Testing Center policies and procedures.
8. Provides information, clarification and advice to testing staff regarding test delivery, policies, procedures, test retrieval and use of specialized computer testing software.
9. Interprets often complicated procedures for administration of proctored tests from other colleges/universities and standardized testing companies; and comprehends delivery methods for several categories of tests, including classroom make-up, Internet, CBT, essays, pre-GED, and other remote/proctored exams delivered paper/pencil or computer-based format.
10. Helps maintain security and accountability of tests before, during, and after testing in compliance with established guidelines.

11. Performs office related duties as required, including answering phones and making test appointments, preparing deposits for testing funds, creating flyers for test schedules and policies, answering test questions, scanning tests or answer sheets, making copies, filing, and faxing/mailing tests/reports.

Required Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent · Minimum of one year full-time work experience administering standardized paper/pencil and computer based testing · Experience with the use of computer equipment and knowledge of office related skills. · Certification training and exams must be completed prior to administering tests that requires such certification (HISET, CLEP, etc.).
(Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience)
Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:
Must have excellent problem solving and organizational skills. Must have excellent decision making skills. Excellent customer service and computer related skills are required to be fully qualified for this position. A second language is not needed or required.
