Job Summary
To support the workforce development activities and programs, in the Bell County Service Regions. This position will focus on employer engagement, particularly with manufacturing and industry partners. This position is located on the Middlesboro Campus, but travel could be required to other SKCTC service regions.




Job Duties:
• Collaborate with project managers and instructors to develop customized training for business and industry. • Analyze workforce development program data to identify internal trends. The Environmental Health/Safety Specialist II is responsible for coordinating safety and ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. This position serves as a key liaison during inspections and audits, playing a vital role in fostering a safe and healthy learning and working environment. Job Duties:
• Conduct periodic laboratory and shop inspections, including all technical and general education labs, to ensure compliance with OSHA standards. Review and maintain inspection reports for all laboratories and shops. • Collaborate with office personnel to ensure ergonomic, fire, and general safety code compliance. • Serve as the college representative during OSHA or System Office Compliance visits. Write, review, and update occupational safety programs for activities across all SCC locations. • Review and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all laboratory/shop chemicals and materials. • Collect, investigate, and report student, employee, and guest accidents to college personnel, KCTCS, and Workers' Compensation as required. • Coordinate hazardous and biological waste collection and disposal in accordance with regulatory guidelines. • Serve on College committees, including but not limited to the Safety Committee (Chair), the Emergency Response Team (ERT), and the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). • Serve on the Infectious Disease Advisory Committee (IDAC) to maintain contact with all Health Departments and Hospitals in the SCC service area. Share IDAC information as needed. • Perform other duties as required.

<li>Implement educational programs for students and external audiences on topics including financial aid. Host internal and external financial aid workshops and staff information tables at events. Collaborate with area high schools and outside agencies to ensure financial aid availability and promote access to higher education. </li>
<li>Manage the Early Childhood Development Scholarship program, including reporting enrollment, determining eligibility, requesting and awarding funds, and processing refunds. Communicate with students and the state program coordinator as needed regarding scholarship requirements and status. </li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and institutional goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent 
</li>
<li>Two years of experience in financial aid, student services, or a related field 
</li>
<li>Skilled in outreach, marketing, and public speaking 
</li>
<li>Strong organizational and compliance tracking abilities 
</li>
<li>Collaborative mindset and adaptability to change 
</li>
<li>Detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments. 
</li>
<li>Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. 
</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
</li>
<li>Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines. 
</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).</li>

Preferred Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of financial aid regulations and scholarship administration 
</li>
<li>Proficiency with financial aid systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Blackbaud) and digital communication tools 
</li>
<li>Previous experience in a community college setting 
</li>
