POSITION SUMMARY This position is a nine-month faculty position responsible for preparing and delivering quality instruction in Music in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned, predominantly Introduction to Music (Music Appreciation) courses, and others that may be assigned. GENERAL DUTIES:
The Criminal Justice: Correctional Officer Instructor shall be directly responsible to the institution administration. The instructor shall develop, plan, and prepare a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignment and instructional aides, and keep these revised and up to date to meet the requirements of the profession. Motivation, conduct, safety, discipline, and appearance of student during the time he/she is on the institution campus are also duties of the Criminal Justice: Correctional Officer Instructor. The instructor will also assist with student placement and student follow-up; participate in recruitment of students; evaluate student progress and maintain student records; participate in professional development activities; cooperate with outside agencies; work with program advisory committees; conduct visits to area employers; and establish and maintain good public relations within the college’s service area. Some travel is required.

SALARY: Associate Instructor (A) $50,142 - $60,171, Commensurate with Tennessee College of Applied Technology salary guidelines

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Use of computer
• Normal standing, sitting, and walking
• Work is performed in a classroom and lab setting with frequent interruptions and distractions.
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, stand and work, with or without accommodation, to demonstrate and perform all work-based projects in a classroom and shop setting.
• Operate a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed.

Position Summary: To provide quality instruction for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment. The major emphasis will be placed on teaching and evaluating students and assisting students as they learn and master course learning outcomes.

2. Supervising the study and learning activities of students assigned to the specific section(s)
3. Regularly and frequently evaluating and reporting the academic progress of students

5. Submitting grades and attendance as the instructors of record

 Required Qualifications: • minimum a master’s degree in their teaching field or have completed at least 18 graduate semester hours (or equivalent) in their teaching field and hold a master’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university or • an associate’s degree in their teaching field or closely related field from a regionally accredited college/university and three years’ work experience in the field

Department: Business &amp; Computer Technology
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi, specifically in the areas of A+ Hardware and A+ Software.
2. Supervising the study and learning activities of students assigned.
3. Submitting requests through the department head, program coordinator, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
4. Evaluating the academic progress of students.
5. Demonstrating knowledge of services, regulations, and procedures as defined in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook.
6. Submitting course grades and performing other administrative duties as required.
7. Scheduling two office hours. For extenuating circumstances in which office hours cannot be scheduled, the adjunct faculty member must submit a written plan to the Dean describing how students can access the instructor. Office hours are not paid during the summer session.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university with at least 5 years of full-time practical computer information technology related working experience and must possess at least one current industry recognized networking credential.
