Job Duties

<li>Prepares and delivers instruction on topics of athletic training and first aid and safety.</li>
<li>Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.</li>
<li>Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.</li>
<li>Maintains office hours for students seeking academic advice, assists in student recruitment and retention; and assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom.</li>
<li>Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with federal FERPA regulations.</li>
<li>Attends all faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Dean or Department Chair.</li>

Minimum Qualifications

      Adjunct Instructor of Voice
    

This is a full-time, academic year, term contract in the Division of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies. The position reports to the Dean of Arts, Sciences, &amp; Technologies and will be primarily stationed in the Henry County, TN area.&nbsp;
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Teach 30 hours (TLE) per academic year in Mathematics and Orientation (willingness to teach overloads as needed) in a combination of learning support, co-requisite, and/or college- level mathematics.
•Ability to teach and manage multiple courses in an individualized setting.
•Teach a range of ages from Dual Enrollment high school students to nontraditional, returning adults.
•Recruit students from area high schools and from the community to make DSCC’s program viable and competitive.
•Flexibility to teach evenings/weekends and/or off-campus courses as needed (requires the use of personal vehicle).
•Practice a learning-centered educational philosophy and redesign courses to include research- based learning strategies such as service learning opportunities, learning communities, critical thinking skils, co-operative learning, and reading across the curriculum.
•Develop web-enhanced courses for delivery in technology-enhanced classrooms/labs (such as interactive (Zoom) rooms), online, or in a hybrid mode, and using accessibility standards.
•Become certified in and fully use the course management system for all classes.
•Provide course materials and information in a format that is accessible for all students.

DIESEL POWERED EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Crump is accepting applications for the full-time position of Diesel Powered Equipment Technology Instructor in the Diesel-Powered Equipment Technology program. This position will be at the Parsons Extension Campus in Parsons, TN.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency.&nbsp; Associate Degree preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum five (5) years of experience in the diesel field.</li>
<li>Must possess a high degree of knowledge of all areas involved in the diesel field to include heavy equipment and farm machinery.</li>
<li>Must possess a current Master ASE Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Certification or the ability to become certified within twelve (12) calendar months.</li>
<li>Must commit to remain Master Certified and maintain program accreditation.</li>
<li>ASE Certification in Automotive Technology a plus.</li>
<li>Strong hands-on technical background in preventative maintenance, diesel engines, electrical/electronics, brakes, drive train, suspension and steering, and heating-ventilation and air-conditioning.</li>

Position summary: Tutors will facilitate in-person or online tutoring sessions for students enrolled in Mathematics courses. Tutors may work imbedded in a class and with the general student population in our college math center.
Locations: Main Chattanooga State campus
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS&nbsp; 
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Develop a positive and supportive relationship with students needing additional academic assistance in mathematics courses
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Promote independent learning of each student participating in tutoring
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide one-on-one math assistance to students referred or seeking assistance with course content or course completion expectations
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Monitor student’s learning strategies and provide assistance developing more effective methods of skills-building
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Communicate with instructors as needed regarding student progress and areas of concern
Holistic Student Support
Familiarity with holistic support for students outside the classroom. These supports include Admissions and Records, Enrollment Service Center, High School Programs, Recruiting and Orientation, Career Services, Student Support Center, Tutoring Services, Student Conduct, Student Life, Multicultural and International Services, Adult Student Services, and the Center for Access and Disability Services.
Ensure that services and activities promote accessibility and reflect equity-minded practices.
Organizational Culture and Inclusive Practices
Embraces and promotes the College's goals related to organizational culture and belongingness.
Support the Math and Science Division's efforts to utilize best practices in providing equity-minded services and support for students, faculty, and staff.
Position Requirements: 
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Achieved A’s in college level math courses up through Calculus 1 OR advanced knowledge of Statistics
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Experience working with students in an academic setting
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ability to work on campus with college students of diverse ethnic backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Associates in Mathematics or related fields (i.e. STEM, Computer Science, Engineering)</li>
<li>Experience working with adult learners</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Knowledge of basic academic skills application and the ability to demonstrate the successful application of various academic skills
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Proficiency in basic internet use; ability to learn internet platforms (such as course management and statistical tools) quickly with training
•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Positive interpersonal skills; a commitment to building constructive relationships with students, faculty, staff and administrators
Work Hours
<ul>
<li>Monday-Saturday during academic terms</li>
<li>Between 10-27 hours per week, depending on contract</li>
