Primary Responsibilities <ul><li>Actively engage with youth in classroom environment</li><li>Assist education staff members in managing student behaviors</li><li>Assist teachers in preparation and implementation of curriculum</li><li>Council youth in matters of personal conduct, hygiene, appearance, safety, social skills, academics, and decision making</li><li>Proactively prevent or manage a crisis situation in a therapeutic manner</li><li>Fulfill other duties as assigned</li></ul> Required Qualifications <ul><li>Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Theology, Social Work</li><li>Ability to build rapport with youth based on healthy boundaries, effective communication and mutual respect</li><li>Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, compassion, patience, and active listening</li><li>Ability to effectively work with individuals from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds, beliefs, customs, and lifestyles</li><li>Ability to physically restrain if required</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Demonstrated experience working with youth in professional or volunteer capacity</li></ul> We want to emphasize that the preferred qualifications are not required and that we are committed to helping our future colleagues develop these preferred skills.
